KTAR Big Announcement on 9 September

If I were management I would phase him back in with a co-host for at least a few weeks. Diane does that to some extent, but she has news responsibilities and can't stay with him all of the time.

Y'know who we probaby COULD bring back-Frank Baranowski...

Seeing as Frank is dead...well, with Frank, he'd find a way. My father got to be a friend of Frank, now they are both on "The Other Side" wooooo

That's what I meant, Frank had made references to contact with The Great Beyond.

And KT'R at times definately qualifies as The Great Beyond.

Ms. Wacki,

Is that The Great Beyond with the 27 virgins or do I have my station owners mixed up? <g>

Nurse Czarina Jeff and I think you're confusing the Religion of Peace with Baranoskiology. An easy mistake to make!

Ankarlo starts back up today (Tuesday 15 September). KTAR has been playing a commercial to remind us. Sad music played in the background. I believe it's Mrs. Ankarlo speaking about his problems with brain damage. It seemed that Ankarlo would only be on for an hour.

The show is still in progress. Pat McMahon, along with many of the people in Ankarlo's daily life for the last few months, did a nice hour that brought most of us up to speed on what Daryl has been going through since the accident.

Ankarlo sounds pretty normal, which is a pleasant surprise. He is still having some issues with his "filters", which is basically vocalizing things that he probably should not be saying on radio.

I am not a conservative but I have been a listener because, to me, he is listenable and gives me something to think about because I won't torture myself listening to the Limbaugh's, Beck's and Hannity's of the world. I am glad to have Ankarlo back and even happier that he seems to be well enough to continue working.

What began at 9am on KT'R was 58 minutes of Pat McBland interviewing doctors, rehab workers, nurses, Mrs Aunt Carlos, friends, co-workers, etc with tales of woe set to sappy music. We got the impression that the return of Aunt Carlos was even bigger than Obama, if that is possible. Then at 9:58am here comes two minutes of Aunt Carlos telling us he was in Hawaii for the past five months, tanned and everything they just heard was B.S!

Nurse Jeff and I didn't think the Master Blogger could top his "Aunt Carlos banned at ASU" self-serving stunt...but he has! In the words of the Commander in Chief...what a jackass!

I guess you could call it, "The Second Coming of Ankarlo." Which, btw, is the subject of a sermon at a local mega church this Sunday.

It was the best radio segment I've heard in a long time. Congrats to KTAR for a class move.

All joking aside, I have always maintained that Bonneville is a classy operation and did the right thing standing behind Ankarlo. Say what you will about Russ Hill (and I have said a lot), I think he is someone with a lot of class and integrity. A tip of the hat to you, Russ and the rest of the 'suits' at Bonneville.

And it appears Austin will actually relocate to Boise:

BTW, did Austin ever do a regular "market leading afternoon drive show"
on KT'R-FM? That is what's inferred in a KIDO/KFXD press release quoted
on the above site.

Did you notice who the PD of KIDO, et al, is? Former 55/FYI Dudeboss
Jason Wilmot.

Closed circuit for boiseengineer: just what is the deal with the blue turf
