ktfm

That's what I was saying about KXXM's HD in another thread, it 'technically' sounds awful. And Fred is correct, KUT sounds really good on all their HD's and they have 3 so they are really splitting up the bandwidth but somehow engineer it very well.

Fred...now that sounds like an engineer issue not a content issue but then again...one person's trash is another's treasure.

Oh I was talking about the mediocre sound quality on 96.7's HD2. I actually kinda like the music.

Whether it's Russian Roulette or a poetry slam, nothing pumps me up like Lady GaGa's Poker Face.

They've added Kesha - "Your Love Is My Drug," Justin Beiber - "Baby," Bruno Mars - "Nothing On You," and Taio Cruz - "Break Your Heart." Looking at yes.com, it seems like KTFM has gone full-fledged CHR with a few Hot AC tracks mixed in.

It makes you think if you are gonna go that route.... Why even have the Hot AC songs in there?

It beats me, but this station has had a history of blending formats when flipping. When they flipped from Rhythmic AC to Hot AC there were quite a few Rhythmic tracks still mixed in for at least a couple of weeks.

EDIT: They seem even more CHR later today than they did this morning... http://www.yes.com/#KTFM

Q96 KSAQ was New Wave/Alternative back in the 80's.

Wait, What? When? They were AC from '84 to the time Inner City took them in '87.
Then they were KSJL, with an AC/urban format. Maybe I missed something.

In the 70s 96.1 was KMFM a Middle of The Road format. KSAQ was on 100.3 as CHR Top 40 Q100 in the early 80s they flipped to KLLS Class 100FM as Adult Contemporary which lasted until 1987 as it became KCYY Y-100 Country as it is now.

In 1984 KSAQ was KSLR Sun Light Radio as a Gospel/Christian Contemporary owned by Salem Broadcasting KMAC was on 630AM as Rock. They sold it to Inner City in 1986 which owned 76 KSJL which was CHR/Top40 After the sale Super Q debuted as Super Q 96/76. About 1 or 2 years later, they dropped the simulcast and 76 Z-Rock was born, and KSAQ was simply known as Q96fm.
Q96 was a hybrid Top 40 crossover format playing Alternative, New Age, R&B, and Rap. In 1990 it was a Urban Leaning Top 40 station. The only station to play 2 Live Crews Mamalampuanga. On Saint Patrick's Day March 17, 1991 KSAQ flipped to 96Rock as a Rock format. This lasted for exactly 2 years in 1993 2 weeks before KSRR flipped to Spanish Favorites "Exitos En Espanol" KSAQ began simulcasting 760 KSJL AM with Chuck Andrews on Saturday playing Blues music, and Tommy Young on Sundays nights, and Gospel on Sunday Morning as an Urban AC format. Inner City sold 760 AM to Clear Channel to broadcast "WOAI 760" with billboards of Larry King and the weather channel like logo of the station. , then "Talk Radio 760 KTKR" and then sports radio "760 The Ticket"

MIX IS NOT GOOD...MIX...BAD. VERY BAD. MUSIC FLOW STINKS. PERSONALITIES ALL OVER THE PLACE...STUPID SYNDICATED MORNING SHOW.

SHEESH...

EASY TO BEAT THEM...WITH NO BUDGET.

LOL

Easy to beat them? That's pretty arrogant being how Z was owned by Mix. The music on Mix is not for my taste either but even I know they sound very good if you like that kind of music. You can't blame Mix alone for having syndication, it is a Clear Channel thing.

Z wasn't owned by Mix. Mix is Clear Channel, and Z was Cox.

That song makes me want to hit somebody or something, do you know how many alarm clocks I busted up waking up every time that song was played? That is why I keep my radio on Bob Fm I haven't heard it on Bob nor do I want to, neither does my poor knuckles or my Alarm Clock Radio.
