As I have pointed out in several posts in this thread, the least expensive way of keeping KTRB alive with a night signal that would serve a small but still not inappreciable number of people, is to apply for an auxiliary night facility using two of KFAX's towers (either #s 1 and 2 or 3 and 4) and a power of 500W give or take. Technically, this may not be the best alternative, but it probably would be the least expensive because KTRB is already transmitting a 50-kW ND signal from the KFAX site by day.

SFStatic said:They have actually had .1s and .2s most of the time, but you are correct, Savage did help the numbers. The bump they got was not remotely close to that which KNEW got when he moved there from KSFO, however. Note that in the 6+ beauty contest numbers KNEW is down from 1.1s and 1.2s to a .5, and KTRB had moved up to a .4. It's not the 25-54 money demo, but does indicate what's going on. The cume can't all be credited to Savage, however. The A's have always brought about 50,000 in extra cume when they've gone to a station.

They will lose them all now, wait and see.

Inside Radio reports:
The entire KTRB staff except for the chief engineer was dismissed on Friday – without receiving their final paycheck.
Inside Radio had incorrect information. There are a couple other staffers that were kept, including Mario Butzner, the Production Director. It's pretty hard to run spots when there's no one on staff to produce and load them!
“The staff was greeted with a court ordered receiver who announced that there was no funding to continue our jobs,” program director Kevin Barrett says. ... Ironically September had just become the station’s best-billing month since it went on the air and Barrett notes KTRB beat Cumulus Media Partner’s sports KTCT (1050) in the just-released August PPM ratings.
