Ktsa fm

I was curious. I have been listening to KTSA's FM translator 107.1. I really enjoy it. I also noticed they are not giving a top of hour FM ID for the

translator. Is that not required?

KTSA Translator ID

Being a newer install they may be using an FSK ID. It's available on some of the newer small transmitters and IDs in Morse Code by varying the carrier frequency and eliminates the need for those clunky translator callsign IDs. It is great to have KTSA on FM isn't it? I realy like Jack Riccardi and Sean Rima.

I haven't heard an ID on 94.5 either, but perhaps I don't listen at the required times.

Interesting because some translators ID every hour, I assume it's because they don't want to worry about the funny schedule.

Being a newer install they are probably using the FSK ID that is approved for translators and available on some new transmitters. It shifts the carrier frequency and "taps out" the ID in morse code once an hour. Pretty cool method and avoids those clunky alphanumeric call signs.
