KTU back to almost all classic dance

Who are you first of all? How do you know me? I never stated where i am on this board so how could you possibly know that info? Second, who's talking about multiple classic dance stations in NYC? I am on the subject everyone's on here on this thread both WKTU & WNEW. I do have a right to voice my opinions & it's called freedom of speech and furthur more i am from Brooklyn NY & grew up in NYC so I do have a right to talk about NYC Radio Stations just like everyone else on this board you can ask any Moderator that, as long as you don't use language or anything like that it's not against the rules to voice opinions. And last but not least WKTU streams live online and i listen to them frequently since my favorite oldies station that i grew up listening to since the 80s WCBS-FM Oldies 101.1 went out on June 3rd this year.

For awhile at night especially when "Vic the Latino" was on the air the station sounded a buit fresher with more currents & not that much classic dance. Now even at nigt their is very little new dance & loads of classic dance
______________

Yes, and I was clearly disagreeing with you!

Just as I understood before. What you don't seem to understand, is that what you call variety is not what I call choice.
Think of it this way; If you like dance music, now you have a choice of what to listen to, instead of being forced to listen to KTU only.

If you like Rock music, you also have choice, instead of Just having to listen to KRock or Q104.

These stations are like snowflakes, no two are the same.

I agree with you that there is no option for people who wanted hear the really old oldies. But the problem is, nobody wants to. Radio is business, and if you can't make a return on your investment, that why waste the wattage? People who HAVE to have oldies will pay for satellite radio. But I highly doubt that this is a sole reason for going to satellite radio. I do agree with you however, that, overall, people will pay the monthly fee and for the equipment for what they ca not get over the air

But that said, the "variety" argument doesn't work with me, because music is subjective, and what may be variety to you may not be variety to someone else.

No need to get testy about it. We are here to debate and to disagree...

Then it doesn't work with YOU, just as YOU said!! Opinion duelly noted!

10 million listeners weekly. On less than 1/10th the stations Rush Limbaugh is on.

He is still around. And he does a lot more than the stereotype of Lesbian dating.

I listen to KTU roughly 8 hours a day and I just don't hear what all the fuss is... They still play everything they always did, their playlist is just wider. Instead of hearing the same classics, the same late 90's and the same 5 currents there is more to choose from thanks to the no repeat time. There isn't anything different about their music except the lack of repetition and in these days of all the retro variety hits stations across the country, it probably makes sense to open up your tight playlist to more songs as long as you stick to the concept of all types of dance new to old!
______________
