Kube 93

I did an aircheck of Kube 93 and have to say this is really the longest time I've listened to it - pretty good rhythmic CHR. It's as good as WLTO Hot 102 in Lexington, KY. I don't even care for most rap so this is saying a lot. Is this thought of as a decent sounding station for this format?

Mainstream CHRs need to play more of Kube's music!

Rhythmic CHR overall is a dying format. We lost a bunch of them this year......

AMEN! It's about time people start realizing that KUBE is on the way back up. #1 for years and then PPM changed things a bit, but Eric Powers is a programming God and will have the station back to #1 in no time. Let me break it down for you:

Mornings - Eddie and Karen - These guys should be holding down mornings at Power 106 in LA, or Hot 97 New York. Quit saying Karen's voice is annoying, it's not. And Eddie isn't hard to understand. These guys are different and will be #1 soon!

Middays- Shelly's been at KUBE for 20 years, and for a reason! I’m sick of people saying she sounds like Delilah…she doesn’t! Shelly is a pro and is the right captain for this ship

Afternoons – Eric’s my boy. He’s a solid jock and an awesome program director. He is not a cheap T-man knock off. And Dirty Harry definitely is more talented than your average intern.

The winning is already beginning. Pull the October PPM’s and take a look at “Persons 6-11 Black or Hispanic” and KUBE is #1. How bout this….Persons 6-17 Black or Hispanic, also #1! KUBE is on the way back up so watch out haters.

KUBE has been slipping ever seince PPM was introduced to the market. They can no longer ride the "heritage station" wave.
Eddie and Karen in morning outside of market #201 is surprising, they are a filler show until a new show comes in for the 2010 year.

LOL!

How about some reality.

1. KUBE is a top three player again in the PPM 18-34. KBKS and KISW are ahead of them. KWFF has slipped back.
2. Mornings have gone up a bit since Eddie and Karen arrived, expecially 18-34. T-Man did not work in the PPM world, but was rock solid in the diary.
3. KBKS, KQMV and KUBE share quite a bit of audience in the PPM and are closer today than they were before the changes at KUBE in September.

The real players 25-54 in town remain the same. Last week it was KJAQ, KPLZ, KRWM, KJR-FM and KZOK. Sound familiar? Same group that has been on top for seven months. Change seems to come much slower in the PPM so KUBE's increases, though not huge, are notable in this new measurement system. For the record:

1. KMPS and KWFF are in a dead heat. KWFF a little younger, KMPS a little older. In Average rating it is a draw.
2. KUOW easily wins the spoken word battle with the number of KIRO-FM and KOMO-AM combined. KTTH, KVI and others have faded since early Fall.
3. KJR-AM easily wins the sports battle with KIRO-AM now that the Mariners are not playing.
4. Mornings are a battle between KPLZ and KJAQ.
5. KJAQ and KZOK win males 25-54 while KRWM and KPLZ win females.

Not much change. I am sure the Christmas music books coming up will shake things up a bit. Most advertisers disregard these books but it should boost KRWM and KCMS for a few weeks.
