jras20, what other Victoria stations are silent besides KULF?
KJAZ, KEZB, KULF
I just don't understand why this kind of thing keeps happening (or should I say, is allowed to happen). Granted KEZB (96.1) is licensed to Edna and their tower is so far east they never had much of a signal in Victoria, but
something could be done with it. On the other hand, KULF (104.7), a class C2 with a tower halfway between Edna and Victoria, has good coverage of Victoria. The signal of KJAZ (94.1) Point Comfort wasn't all that bad either, although if they actually build out their construction permit it would be more of a Port Lavaca station.
KEZB was sold recently and there's no telling when they're coming back on, since they were bought by a holding company that will be reselling it. The only station out of the three that's officially listed as "silent" is KJAZ; supposedly the last time they were actually on the air was before August 31st, 2006. At last report it's still owned by Fort Bend Broadcasting, as is KULF, which on paper is the most attractive property of all. So there's really no reason it shouldn't be on the air.
