Finally caught KVI today. Not sure what to make of it. It isn't news, it isn't conservative talk, but what are they doing. The morning show had lots of interviews but was fairly dull. Clark Howard was what I expected. The afternoon guy seemed young and talked a bunch about food, celebrities and music. Afternoon Wall Street Journal report was news centered. Is this kind of the approach that Randy Michael's was taking with his stations in New York and Chicago? It is not working there, will it work in Seattle? I also wonder why they simulcast KOMO News and Traffic at the top and bottom of each hour. Won't that just create confusion or worse hurt KOMO's numbers?
Basically they join KOMO for ten minutes at the top and bottom of each hour and then breakaway to interviews or syndicated shows. Weird concept.
Admire Fisher for spending money on local shows, but don't get the direction.
