To my tastes, it's always looked better on paper than it has sounded to my ears, but perhaps I haven't heard the right presentation.
This is a format CC tried on 101.5 years ago... admittedly not the best signal... but as I remember, numbers were dismal.
Hey! Just remembered: they even tried a Christian version... so CC HAS had CCM stations before... so perhaps a CCM format for 106.1 isn't such a crazy stretch...
What 101.5 tried was really more of an AC-leaning version of Triple A. KFOG in San Francisco and WBOS in Boston have superior, yet different, versions of this format. With Tulsa's local music scene, I think this format would work well. Granted, it would never compete for first place in the books, but no Tulsa station has ever tried a true Triple A format. If it was worked like a free-form format, it could be really good.
