AAA = Adult Album Alternative = The Edge lite (kinda). It's modern music for adults with an alternative twist.

To my tastes, it's always looked better on paper than it has sounded to my ears, but perhaps I haven't heard the right presentation.

This is a format CC tried on 101.5 years ago... admittedly not the best signal... but as I remember, numbers were dismal.

Hey! Just remembered: they even tried a Christian version... so CC HAS had CCM stations before... so perhaps a CCM format for 106.1 isn't such a crazy stretch...

What 101.5 tried was really more of an AC-leaning version of Triple A. KFOG in San Francisco and WBOS in Boston have superior, yet different, versions of this format. With Tulsa's local music scene, I think this format would work well. Granted, it would never compete for first place in the books, but no Tulsa station has ever tried a true Triple A format. If it was worked like a free-form format, it could be really good.

Thanks for the enlightment. I assume an alternative to Christian Triple A would be Triple 6. ???

ionosphere, that may have been my problem with the AAA Tulsa stations... BORING. I felt like my ears were being drug through sludge. (Part of that was the audio processing, but that's a different post). If AAA's should be hotter, I might just like it! It doesn't have to be screaming guitars, but the tempo of what I heard needed to be picked WAY up. I'll have to check out those markets you mentioned; I bet they stream.

cooptulsa , you make me giggle. ;D Too bad you couldn't put a station on AM 666 Khz, huh?

(I would think that would be a metal station: Ozzy, Dio, Judas Priest, Slayer, Danzig, etc.)

I think the opposite of AAA is VVV with a line through it.

\-/ \-/ \-/

...something like that...
