KWSS Moving to 93.9

Nope, I left the transmitter back in pennsylvania, figured there was no real clean spot on the dial in this crowded city, so why even try.
You would be suprised how good some of these off E-bay transmitters can sound, there is some junk out there. But if you know what your doing you can get them sounding pretty darn good.
Sound quality is not the main thing the FCC has in mind with the certification requirement. The main issue is spurious emissions and frequency stability, which would (of course) be of limited interest to pirates. I've bought and sold plenty of broadcast equipment on eBay. Sorry guys, I'd like eBay to limit it to certified Part 15 and licensable equipment, regardless of who it's sold to.

Well, I really Like this station. Im just hoping that they can get more power as well as Height.
It seems like every "Cool" station that goes with a Non-Mainstream Format or does something different, is pretty much stuck on a crap signal.
Makes you wonder if the BIG Corporations have it set up this way, to keep decent Competition from appearing on the airwaves.
KWSS might do better if they could just place there Transmitter on top of one of the higher buildings in Downtown Phoenix and be allowed to run a FULL 100 Watts, instead of going up on one of the mountains and having a measly 3 Watts.
What do you guys think? there's got to be some engineer out here, that would probably agree with me on that. You Need Height as well as Power.

Again, I'm a "no" vote for increasing KWSS's signal unless they move it to another frequency. Yes, I realize KRDE 94.1 isn't technically a Phoenix station but it does have a pretty decent signal in Phoenix despite the distance to Globe, at least on my car radio. At least KRDE has a better signal than KCDX.
