KXXT schedule changes

With clocks changing everywhere else, 1010 is moving Newcomb to mornings 5-7 and Goyette back to 7-10. Night schedule moves earlier 2 hours, with Malloy live and underutilized Steph Miller on at 10pm.

That is, if they continue as is come January.

If KXXT is going to go anywhere, they need to do a lot better on weekends. Re-runs and home improvement suggestions aren't going to cut it. Some locally produced political talk shows would go a long way. There's no shortage of radical right to criticize in Arizona.

KXXT has at least three local liberal talk shows on the weekends. (All times before the time change alters them, if it does.)
Saturday afternoon 2 to 4: Truth To Power
Saturday 4 to 7 p.m.: The M and M Show
And there's one on Sunday afternoon, too.
There's been a second edition of the M and M Show Sundays from ten to noon, but an on-air comment indicated that may be replaced by a car repair show.
By the way, I hope this change allows them to run the Rachel Maddow show, which is quite a good news review from a liberal perspective.
I like it better than Morning Sedition, and it's on Air America at 5 a.m. Eastern. They could air something from 1 to 3 a.m., (maybe Franken), Maddow and an hour of Morning Sedition, but somehow I doubt I'll be that lucky.
Thankn God for streams.
It's interesting that KXXT has had a web link to Maddow's show, but hasn't aired it. It began a week after the longer show which featured Maddow was replaced on Air America by Jerry Springer, which few affiliates seem to carry on either coast.
By the way, Franken on Friday was fraught with technical problems, which he handled quite poorly. He needs another co-host to keep him on track and smooth his rough spots.

If KXXT is going to go anywhere, they need to increase billing. Find liberal groups to buy the time.

Liberal groups alone buying air time on KXXT just isn't going to cut it. Do you hear ads for just conservative groups on stations like KFYI and KTAR? No. Successful stations must have a well-rounded base of advertisers, from car dealers to restaurants to anything else that buys time. And, like it or not, infomercials on the weekends bring in a HUGE amount of money, even if they are bad programming.

Is Chucky going to pitch a fit about moving times, and bitch every show till he changes stations?

Stephanie Miller, damn that is one unfunny host, I wondered what happened to her.

This is the shift Goyette started with at KXXT. The one really losing visibility in the deal (or audibility?) is Mike Newcomb. Yeah, I know, morning drive. But I doubt he'll do that well at 5 a.m. That 6 o'clock hour may be worth it, though.

You're right. Problem is, KXXT has weeded out paid programs for the most part because they believe it's beneath them. My point was to find as many shows like the church in Surprise paying $500/hr to discuss their progressive faith. After you've burned those out, pick up the Scores and Odds type of shows.

As to conservatives buying time on KFYI, there are groups that buy time on stations like KXAM, KFNX, et al. Not a huge number, but then again there is an oversaturation of conservative talk, but KXXT can tell advertisers that other stations don't want their liberal rubbish. Play the Rush card.

> the right wing stations have the same home and re run stuff too....with Bush's numbers in the tank...you would think left stations would start to do better
