If it isn't a rumor, Glenn, then I don't know why you aren't being specific.
______________

As David will undoubtedly tell you, as he was there at the time, KNAC was taking in very little revenue when it was sold and went to a Spanish language format. Fred Sands poured a lot of money into KNAC to keep it afloat, but it simply wasn't viable in terms of advertising sales.

And I wouldn't trust CC to do an active rock format right anyway.
______________

Re: KNAC KNAC, Who's there?

You do know that there are sound business reasons why KNAC has been dead and gone for 10 years, right? There is more to life on the radio dial than the niche stations you either like and have (for now) or would want to come back.

I appreciate the fact that you must be young and want to Rock harder/better/more extreme than the KROQ's and KLOS' this town has to offer, however radio is a business (which I'm sure you know from visiting here as often as you do)and bringing back marginal stations from the past is simply not a winning business strategy. Determining what the next BIG THING is and growing it from scratch to mainstream is - think KROQ in the early 80's - that is a business strategy.

Everyone has stations they loved that are gone, I could name at least a dozen myself. But building a weak business case for bringing them back won't work.

The irony is, even if you did bring back KNAC, it would only take even more listers away from your beloved Indie, kill Indie, and then die a quick natural death itself. So be careful what you wish for.

As non-specific as his posts were, he could just as easily have
been predicting a major quake...it's easy to say "told ya" when
you don't get within a mile of even a hint.
It's just attention-grabbing...and we're feeding into it (or were).

KMR, it was my little way to see if anyone else on this board knows anything. Obviously, they do not or they won't share it.

You have the deleted posts. Why don't you share how what I posted matches exactly what finally came out as a heavy rumor at All Access and later after that as a forced memo from CCULA.

Geez, you post a little something TRUE here and get slammed for it. What is the use?

The deleted posts conveyed no more information than the teases you have posted in this thread, and you know it.
______________

You know they had the exact details (less station name or persons). And I still have them. I'd be happy to re-post them.

While your at it be sure to tell your buddy Charlie to look for a new gig. He's out when his next window is up.

Re: KNAC KNAC, Who's there?

I hate metal, hated KNAC.

I'm just thinking it make sense.

Re: KNAC KNAC, Who's there?

A lot has changed in 10 years, as any spanish language station will tell you.

I think active rock is what will happen.

But then again I think Arbitron is going to re-issue the latest trend, so what do I know?

CC has been doing active rock all over the country for a while now.
There is no such thing as doing an active rock format right. Everything about it is wrong, but they are successful at it.

I wish you'd ask yourself that question before you post instead of after.
______________

Re: KNAC KNAC, Who's there?

I'm not saying KNAC as a brand, I'm saying active rock.

And what do you say then if I am right about either of these things?

You wrote this to me ... quote, I do not know what you are posting about."

Then you reply, "It's funny. You can't even understand what I posted to you."

So apparently, neither one of us knows what the other is saying :).

All I know is that you deal in rumors, not specific facts.

All I am saying is that your post was non-specific, did not name the station, anyone involved, no quotes or paraphrases from people involved -- management or on-air staff.

After that worthless post, you claim "great vindication".

Apparently, you want praise and admiration.

If so, simply ask for it ... Glenn.

Geez, no wonder you drive the moderators out of their minds.

And I say, if you had the facts and you could quote someone on the changes, why did you not do it?

Newspapers do not rely on rumor and gossip.

Why would you want to deal in it?

That's why I called you "Walter Winchell" to begin with. You seem to be a publicity hound.
