Update: The transfer of KFZO to Latino Media Holdings was consummated today. Keep an eye on this once Audacy exits bankruptcy as a further sale might be in the works.Thread bump: KFZO has been transferred to a new holding company with the same ownership as LMN. Supposedly has to do with the Soros investment in both LMN and the restructured Audacy.
Assume you are talking about Sylvia Banderas Coffinet who became LMN CEO in May 2023. Jumping ship before taking on too much water, or thrown overboard?LMN CEO has stepped down, I believe about a few weeks ago. No mention in the industry rags but it may be a non-news factor since I don't think they made any difference in the company other than being hired.
Makes you wonder..Assume you are talking about Sylvia Banderas Coffinet who became LMN CEO in May 2023. Jumping ship before taking on too much water, or thrown overboard?

Has LMN done anything at any of the stations it acquired? Here in Houston LMN’s KLAT is still running a simulcast of TUDN with TU’s KQBU 18 months after the sale closing.if they know what there doing right? my opinon is you need a Radio CEO at the helm not magazine CEO|
and yes its true she is gone!
Let's remember that KTNQ got a new schedule in April and the Fresno and Vegas stations picked up Dodgers. That's really just about it. Doubt that they'll be able figure out something with Univisión to pick up WADO here in the NY metro.Has LMN done anything at any of the stations it acquired? At the beginning of the year, they rebranded Vegas rimshot KRGT 99.3 from "Latino Mix" to "Latino Beats." That seems to be about it so far.Has LMN done anything at any of the stations it acquired? They're still using the Jan-Sep 2014 KRGT logo still on the LMN website. At the beginning of the year, they rebranded Vegas rimshot KRGT 99.3 from "Latino Mix" to "Latino Beats." That seems to be about it so far.
Supposedly, 2024 was supposed to be when they would start taking over operational control of the stations they bought.
IIRC, Univision was able to move-in KRGT to the Black Mountain tower farm before the sale. Granted, it is only at 8.8 kW of ERP. But since they have a full view of the Las Vegas valley from the mountaintop, they have no issues covering Vegas anymore. At the beginning of the year, they rebranded Vegas rimshot KRGT 99.3 from "Latino Mix" to "Latino Beats."
They’re going to have to do something completely different with KFZO. I don’t see it being able to compete against The TU and MediaCo stations in DFW. Maybe just sell it to Hope Media Group for its Vida Unida format, which is already on KAWA HD-2.Supposedly, they take full control of the Regional Mexican Stations in LV, Fresno, Dallas, McAllen at the end of the month when there LMA ends from Univision
And have done nothing with most of those. KLAT in Houston must be setting a ton of money on fire, especially when you can get the TUDN programming on a TU owned FM.as far as the AM and other formats they already have control of them
The FCC finally approving the Audacy restructuring is likely when we might see some action on the LMN stations, due to the Soros investment group being involved with both. Much speculation they will be folded into the Audacy group.an inside source told me they are already running out of money as one of the reasons there former CEO left

Not saying I agree with that speculation. Only future I see for KLAT is Spanish language religion. Signal totally inappropriate for any sort of ethnic programming.Count me among those who don't see LMN being "folded into Audacy." The fact that they're coming out of bankruptcy is not a good time to pull in some money-losing AMs. If anything, it's the time to jettison off the weakest stations in the group.
Audacy has almost zero Hispanic market programming and sales experience. And they have no experience with Spanish language major market AM stations. My view is Audacy can provide management and leadership without actually combining the two companies. Keep LMN at a distance, so that the losses don't bring down the bigger battleship.
And the night signal is not good over the HDHA areas where most of the Spanish dominant listeners are located. Remember, in November to February, huge parts of AM and PM drive are during FCC night hours and the signal will not be usable by many. Not saying I agree with that speculation. I predict a liquidation soon after the election and inauguration.
It would be a better situation if the person has experience with Spanish language radio. Ideally, they should speak Spanish fluently and be of Hispanic background. That's OK. What's missing at LMN is strategy, whether Hispanic or otherwise. To me, the strategy the Soros haters put forth was much better than the one they have now, which is none. There needs to be a broadcaster in the building. It doesn't matter what language he speaks.
And the FMs don't make much difference: Fresno, McAwful, Las Vegas and the ultra rimshot in Dallas. Remember, they bought a number of FMs, too.The main thing is Audacy CAN'T afford to lump those AMs into an already bankrupt company.
Because all the people who might pull the trigger are worrying about the current presidential campaign, SCOTUS decisions and the like. Radio is not even on the back burner..Why wait?
Oops, I completely forgot they did the downgrade-to-a-C2-to-get-closer bit. They bought so many poor AM and FM facilities, it was easy to forget they moved out of the rimshot pile...IIRC, Univision was able to move-in KRGT to the Black Mountain tower farm before the sale.
