KZOM, Zoom 104.5 - Orange

> Things are good! Do you get my email at your classx
> address??

Yes, I got it. I actually run (program & manage) 2 LPFM stations in Northern Ky right across the river from Cincinnati. I played a part in getting the rules changed to allow LPFM stations.

My Corporation, Spryex Communications, Inc. applied for a full power in Cincinnati back in 1999. It looks like it might be granted finally, in a couple of months. So I look forward to building it this Spring/Summer.

I also have 2 small networks where I program for a few other stations. They are ClassXRadio.com and ChoiceFMRadio.com

So it seems like all of the crew that I knew there (at KZOM) might still be infected with the Radio Virus like me! How is Bobbi? Has anyone talked to her. How about Mark and Dave? Dave was so extremely talented and so were you Larry! I miss those days! I got kinda bored doing airwork and became more interested in programming/management.

So what are you into these days Biglar? Shoot me your email address and everyone else's that you have from those days. I'd love to catch up with everyone.

BTW, I still have a copy of my TX drivers license with a picture on it. Man I did look scary! Gosh, what was I thinking? I looked like Sly Stone on drugs!

Drop me a line at [email protected] and I'll send you the contact info. Larry

Glad to read this post on KZOM-FM "Texas Rock, Zoom One-Oh-Four-And-A-Half", KOLE, KOBS and related stations.

All of the Zoom crew from the classic era of '78 - '81 are in touch with each other, with a few exceptions. Here's the roll-call.

Dave Scott - Kink-FM, Portland OR

Mark McClaren - Clear Channel, Toledo

Larry King - ABC Radio Networks, Oldies Radio, Dallas

Michael "Sigh" Morrison - College Professor & Horticultural Services, Houston

Jan Inzinga Newman - Horse Breeder, Baton Rouge

Bobbie Choate - avoids the Zoom era

Bob Crockett - auto collector, Austin

Don Golden - F & B Marketing, Houston

"Sister" Sara Davis - Teacher, Allen

Mark Mitchell - teacher, Japan

Rick Robbins (Rick Burt) ABC Radio Networks, Hot AC, Dallas

Gary Shaw - Eagle Audio Recording

Sue Palmarozzi Haley - parent

Robert X. Brown - deceased

Unaccouted for: Eddie Rivers, Robin Jones

KZOM & KOLE were owned by Leighton Broadcasting out of St. Cloud MN.

If you're a ZOOM or KOBS allum, I'd like to hear from you.

I was only there a few months (1979-1980), but I remember Larry, Bob, Dave and Bobbie. It was my last job in radio. Don't know how anyone could make it on those wages. I was so desperate, I got a job in advertising, and started making so much money I couldn't ever get out of it. Would much rather be spinning vinyl and breaking format... ;-)

Another ex KKMY personality from its oldies days was George Farris, who I heard on the radio in Denver several years later.
