LaPowerFM 105.3

That translator in Austin's contact info reflects Dan Alpert - the same attorney that Centro Cristiano uses. I bet Guel, the Guevara's, or both, are involved...
Apparently, it's owned by Alpert... Someone I've never read anything good about when it comes to FCC regulations.

The station has added different formats, I heard Mariachi songs, Quebradita, Grupero cumbias, Tigrillos too.

Could it happen as well? Could Centro Cristiano have some kind of partnership with Franco to use K287CK-FM to rebroadcast LAPOWER ?

Mr. Tejano, the owner says Centro and SDK will work together when pigs fly. 😂. He said send a private message and a phone number. He'd like to buy you lunch...

I know the owner of Centro, I have been to his church. And I have his brothers cell phone number too. And I also have him as a friend on Facebook. So this invitation you speak of is false. If he wanted to buy me lunch he would reach out to me directly. 😆 nice sarcasm from your side though thanks.

Sir, you.misunderstand. Centro no longer owns 105.3 and 92.5. Just look it up in FCC records
You misunderstood me too, I never said Centro owns 105.3 nor 92.5.

Mr. Tejano that's really nothing to boast about. That's like saying your friends with the notorious Cuban revolutionary and long-term leader Raul and Fidel Castro.

He wasn't being literal.

How does knowing a person who runs a few radio stations compare to Communist leaders?
Yes maybe it was a faulty comparison the correct comparison is Ted Haggard. I have much more to say, but I will be banned from using radio discussions and the comments will be deleted.
Be careful the friends you choose...

Perhaps there should be an equivalent of Godwin's Law for people who compare the perpetrators of minor offenses to Stalin, Lenin, Pol Pot, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro or some other brutal political or revolutionary leader.

I suggest it be called the "Mugabe Law".

A lot has changed since then... that is over 30 years ago and there is a huge community of Hispanic Millennials who are ready for a cross-cultural format. But mostly KQQK did it all wrong. Just as Super Q in Miami around 1980 did it wrong.

Keep in mind that most Top 40 / CHR stations, many AC stations and nearly all rock stations in Latin America play a mix of English and Spanish music. The difference in the US is that the use of Spanglish in the presentation is becoming more and more common; this is not flipping between languages, though. It is street Spanglish, which is a tongue all to itself and only understood by relatively proficient bilinguals.

When I did South America's first Top 40 station in the 60's, we played about 50% Spanish language music; the rest was in English, Italian and French. We even had a representative (usually me) at the San Remo music festival in Italy each year and played the best songs as soon as a plane could get them back to the station. So playing international music is hardly unusual.
I have always thought that a "mix" station playing Spanish, European, and American music could be a viable format in certain cities, notably NY, LA and maybe Chicago and Houston and Dallas. But it would be a risk that I don't think many owners would take today. But, if you have an under performing signal, what have you got to lose?

What do you mean when you say European music? What Artist?
When Reggaeton was big 2004-2007 stations like KIIS fm Los Angeles and WHTZ in New York played all the top Daddy Yankee,Nore,Don Omar songs. Any time Shakira,Pitbull & Jennifer Lopez have a new release all the the CHR stations always play them. KIIS fm Los Ángeles even use Spanish in the imaging.
