And why not? Larry would say why he doesn't like Eric, and Eric would say, "Larry, you ignorant slut," and proceed to downgrade Larry.

hey atlbanker you dont have to listen.i am glad they are back and have enjoyed the show all week.if you like the bert show better then go back and listen to it.trust me the two demos are very different.the regular guys are for working men who like classic rock and other male oriented stuff like shoe shows and homeless kareoke.
the bert show attracts girls and 30+ women who are trying to act hip and.
steve is in his late 30s and is in a commited relationship with a 20something girl named tiffany and isnt out hitting on girls anymore.but trust me he doesnt have to do the hitting they go after him.

Larry & Eric did fine this week. And will only get better as they get more comfortable.
Good to have SSS back. And of course good to see Tim Andrews back in his element.

The only thing I wish is that Tim would use a different background music track. That
cheesy organ track is killing me!

TRG have not missed a step and sounded great. Congrats to SS Shirley for becoming an official Regular Guy. Andrews sounds happy to be back with his team, and having Mark Owens helping out behind the scenes can only help the show. I was a 99X fan and enjoy Bert, however, caught myself laughing outloud more this week than I have in a long time. If CC puts up a fight, we could see the return of some good radio wars in 2008.

ATLBanker sounds like he is describing TRG 2.0 where Eric was disengaged. This week I found Eric more engaged and not bitter at all. Go back and listen to the Bert Show from the first week did they sound like they gelled so great? Bert Show is for girls and guys whose women have them by the cajones or still have their mommies make their bed for them. Which one are you ATLBanker?

dunno about the 90s but x's morning show was damn good a few years ago. better than the borrrrrrrrrring reg guys

This just in: ATLBanker is a "sensitive" guy who sits down to pee. That's why he likes The Bert Show.

So far, TRG 3.0 is way better than 2.0. But I've gotta disagree about the "Curtis Washington" stuff. Really tired of hearing it. Especially when Andrews is playing the DOT guy (don't remember his name). These bits got so bad during TRG 2.0 that listeners quit calling in to argue. Painful, painful stuff.

keep posting clips from the show because i can't listen to the whole thing.

I agree that the Bert Show and the regular guys can not be compared. The Bert Show has a happy feel about it. They genuinely enjoy each others company. They like each other and it comes across on the air. I bet they all hang out on weekends. They are happy and in turns makes the audience happy. The regular guys have a dirty feel about them. A smugness. They don't connect. I gave them a try. Like I said earlier, they need a spark. Larry needs to run the thing and Eric needs to say as little as possible. He has turned into an absolute bore. He has a bitterness. New blood is needed. These guys have run their course together. Larry has the basics and is trying his best, but Eric doesn't jell. Smug, smug and more smug defines Eric.

So then Eric's the problem? You keep changing your mind. The show I'm hearing now is really compelling without trying so hard to shock people and get laughs. It's more interesting in a human natural way. Besides, what difference does it make if one nitpicky person with an axe to grind or 50 such people think the show is good or bad? They've done 5 shows, and not even Arbitron measures that narrow.

I don't think they've ever shied away from the fact that they had "issues." A show that doesn't hide from that and works it out on air sounds pretty good to me. Isn't that the basis of every single successful "reality" show on TV?

Why must every show sound functional and happy all the time even if they aren't?

The Regular Guys were a bit rusty. They'll get back into it, don't worry. I really don't think they hate each other, either. It's simply something people say about them that they see no reason to deny. After all, we're talking about it, aren't we?

I thought I'd wait a week to make a determination on the success or failure of the re-incarnation of the "Regular Guys"... Know what? You can't create chemistry, and these two fools have it with each other! They just have to swallow their pride long enough to make it work. Hey: Regular Guys... You are both better as the sum of all your parts, than individually. Don't get "above your raisin'..." Be the ATL's cocky --------- if you want, but get it right this time... Embrace the key players on your show and stop trying to "one-up" each other... btw... Larry is the wiseass, and Eric is the thinker. Go with that!
