Last chance to catch Big Rick's last shift on KFOG tonight

When is our first chance to catch Big Rick first shift on KFOX? Hope he doesn't get confused and say KFOG once in awhile!!!

I believe he starts Monday. Interesting that he was able to switch stations with so little time in-between -- was he working without a contract at KFOG?

Big Rick was on Kihn's show the other morning. said he was glad to be on K-FOX because it meant "no more Natalie Merchant". A pretty funny line, although he'll now have to hear "Under Pressure" and "Sweet Emotion" even more often than he did at KFOG. ;)

yeah, I said something like that on his facebook page and he deleted it, go figure

Seriously? Wow. When stations and deejays have Facebook pages they gotta expect a little snark from time to time.  last year some "Fogheads" had choice words to say about KFOG's endless flogging of "Hey Soul Sister" on the stations FB page. Whaddygonnado?

Ben fong torrez and ALex Benedict, are those old guys still around too?

Yes - these ancient old guys are still around:

Alex Bennett has a show on XM/Sirius, I've been told. BTW - I don't think he was every on KFOG - KMEL, The Quake, Live 105 yes, but KFOG no, unless I'm forgetting.

Ben Fong-Torres is an author (always has been, radio was more an avocation than a full-time job). He writes the Radio Waves column for the San Francisco Chronicle and sfgate.com.

Not to mention that Big Rick won't be playing any Phoenix, Broken Bells, Florence & the Machine or any other music he digs that was released in the past 10 years. (Does KFOX play any women artists other than the occasional Pretenders or Joan Jett tune?) I'm not sure KFOX is the best fit for a DJ as talented as Big Rick. I didn't know they even had on air staff other than Greg Kihn. But we'll give him a listen. He was the reason we listened to KFOG and the guy who replaced him is pale in comparison. Of course, Big Rick is the best (going all the way back to his days at LIVE-105) so he's a tough act to follow.
