@MikeRock: Of all the songs to start the existence of 101.9 post-RXP - to pick a Kid Rock "song" whose sole existence is the sampling of four different songs... that, to me, is sickening.

I agree. Considering the first two songs sounds, I guess we are in hit radio or AC territory.

Now, I hear a montage of women babbling... identifying themselves and saying what they like...

I am hearing another female spoken-word montage... "I love shoes..." "Every woman loves jewelry..." I guess these are their commercial break preludes, at least on the weekends...

5:33 PM: Two commercials: Allstate ("This is Dan Tullis. And I just called...) and Geico. (Wow, no Progressive ads? I'm starting to like this station already! Not... I think the presentation is a clue that I probably won't be sampling much once the radio geek "wow factor" on this new station has worn off...)

Heck, Merlin sold off Q101's intellectual property, the website, the moniker, the history... basically, the whole kit and caboodle over to a barter radio syndication firm! Hardly surprised there.

At about 6:35pm ET 1019 FM New did their 1st "live" (voicetracked?) break. No one identified themselves but one of the voices was Paul Cavalconte's + 1 male + 1 female.

Started with "Breaking News: TMZ reports that Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony are splitting up...etc." They read the brief statement linked below. The story is dated Fri. 7/15/11 at 5:35pm ET (about 1 hour earlier than the on air announcement).

At the end, Paul said "for this and other news, tune in Monday morning at 6am" (7/18/11). Showbiz news, fashion & family seem to be the focus, based on the "women in the street" interview drop-ins played between songs.
