Last song on 106.7

There will be a last song played on 106.7 forever. Even if Cumulus cans news by then the station will be on 106.5. My first though was "Atlanta June" from Pablo Cruise's Place In The Sun album. The song does have a few lines about coming back so it might not work. Has any station ever used Steam's Na Na Na Good Bye? For technical reasons a really long song Rare Earth's Get Ready (Album version) or Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" could work. When I flipped WIKI from AC to Country I used Rapture by Blondie for the extra time to change out a whole bunch of carts.

They could always do "Last Dance" by Donna Summer (too soon?)

I do think Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" (Long Version) is a good choice. I am very curious what they will be choosing.

Before going into news, dedicate this song to WSB and WGST..... "Talk Talk" by Talk Talk. THen explain how they will deliver the news, but not TALK about the news.

Also, "Your Wildest Dreams" by the Moody Blues. If it can end a heritage AC station during the middle of the holiday season, then it can end ANYTHING!

Oh, I almost forgot! "Baba O'Riley" from The Who! "It's only teenage wasteland" is a PERFECT generalization of the Atlanta radio market! And being the first AND last song on 96 rock is a pretty nice tribute.

My choice would be:

A Day in the Life by the Beatles and let that last note linger as long as possible.

Other choices
Going down in a "Blaze of Glory" - Bon Jovi
Take this Job and Shove It - Johnny Paycheck In honor of Y106
Old Time rock and Roll - Bob Seger
Glory Days - Springsteen
Changes - David Bowie
Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum
The End - The Doors - Ok no shot of that but it would be funny.

"FM" by Steely Dan...a tribute to what the FM band once was...and a little jab at WSB and WGST ("no static at all")--yes, I know, "and NOW 95.5 FM"...but a lot of people still listen to WSB on 750.

"Dirty Laundry" is an excellent choice.

I dare someone to use Elvis Costello's "Radio Radio" for a flip.

As said by many people, sometime Sunday night or early Memorial Day there should be a soft launch. They can work out the kinks, and no one will be listening except us.

If their on-air product matches the sound of this promo announcement.... what a waste of kilowatts!

That is the sound of me recording with an iPhone from Mac Speakers. It is a problem on my end. Sounds great in the car.

No, I have been listening ON THE AIR with my own radio to the every half hour broadcast. Maybe the staff thinks they have done good in putting that recording together. I thought if was kind of cheesy. Like something we would have done in 1965.

BUT.... Everyone to his own taste, said the farmer... as he kissed his cow.

Re: AUDIO: Anything Pertaining to the AGH-All News Flip (I'll Start)

I'll be recording parts of the audio Tuesday morning. I am going out of town that afternoon, but will still listen on my phone.
