Last week of Arbitron

uh? thanks pretty boy toy, I guess? I'm a little confused by that, but thanks. I take it you have a bad outlook on Pamal as well.

Boy if they are giving away a car, and after weeks and weeks of 'structured' promotional meetings, and they don;t have the details finalized, and they are promoting or somewhat promoting this giveaway on air, this could put Pam and Al's Dad right into the hotseat..legally.

Wait a second, as much as I give Pamal total credit for being inept operators in Rutland., and they are . I cannot think that Pamal would do some type of car giveaway without all the details and legalities ironed out.. Has anyone actually seen the car itself ? I hear it's a Pontiac G5. Considering the fact that Pam and Al's Dad owns a ton of car dealerships.. Nahh it couldn't be like that... could it ?

For all we know, it could be a scale model of a G5...the website gives NO details...whats the legality of giving away a car that no one has seen? Is it an 07 or 08? How long is the lease? Maybe a 1 year lease? What color is it? I heard the promo for it last week and it said somthing like "lease restrictions apply" What does that mean? What about the taxes...what about the insurance? What is the mileage restriction, if any?...does Z97 take care of those too? I hope an angry qualifier doesn't ask for the details! Maybe my attorney and I will take a shot at qualifying for the prize..just to have a little fun!

Tick tock...tick tock...

lakemonster should wait for the smoke to clear on this one! ;)

There has to be some sort of contest rules, did the car come from the local Pontiac dealer, or from Pam and Al's Dad's dealerships ? Usually with a car giveaway or more so on a lease giveaway, in most cases, the winner needs to have established good credit, or co-signer with good credit..

Wait a sec...

You mean to tell me that in order to WIN a car, you have to have good credit?

That bites the big one! The folks that can't afford a new car most often do not have good credit. The folks that can usually do. :'(

Leased car makes more sense tho. :-\

Yeah, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense! The lower end folks (financially) are the ones who are most likely to jump at these contests. Sadly, most also don't realize that they'll have to pay income tax on the "winnings" - which can easily represent sending a $3000 check to the IRS. A nasty, nasty surprise.

Usually the winner of a lease has to come up with sales taxes, registration fees, and insurance. Plus the dreaded 1099. The car is still property of some other entity. Good credit or a co-signer insures that the leasee will live up to the agreement on the lease, oil changes, tire rotations, maintainace, etc.. I've seen these lease giveaways go this direction, certainly the station or the dealer are not going to pay for these things. These conditions are ususally in the posted rules if there are any for this contest... That's pretty typical, I don;t think I'm off base here.

Jo Jo you are sounding more and more like a disgruntled ex-employee of mine. Dudeman2000 instead of saying tick tock you should be saying Koo Koo because that is what you are!!! NUFF SAID!!! CLASS DISMISSED....THE GREAT HOUDINI HAS SPOKEN :-*

Maaaahhhhhbbbbllllessss It seems you can't take honest feedback from intelligent people that know the business, and better yet, seem to know YOUR business..

Wait wait! If it's true can you name him/her? If not, do you think there's a reason why? ;) :-[

DUDEMAN!!! You're a pigeon?? By the way, Houmarbledini, it wouldn't be improper to actually spell the word Cuckoo, but then again why do I bother? There's no intelligent response from that post anyway.

I am curious though, why do you believe that someone might be disgruntled with you?

I was talking with a friend who applied for a position 2 years ago with pamal or catamount, she said they are the same company. She said it was a joke of an interview. she said they had no clue. Is this just the Rutland crew or do you think the whole Pamal company runs like this?

"Totally a Rutland anomaly"? get a life JO JO your a wash up who doesn't know an antenna from a knob ::) May we ask who you work for ??? Since your so in the know and have all the free answers and tips of the day for us :p

My God, Marbles. You are so full of yourself. Kracko has been in radio for darn near 20 years I'd say, and for some VERY successful stations in Northern New England.

I would say he had to have picked up something along the way. Quite frankly, with the attitude that you have I can't imagine how you would have picked up anything along the way except maybe by accident.

Feel good about your position all you'd like but I'd have to say you're not going to get very far past the market you're currently in, if you ever desired to in the first place.

You know what NHRadiochild (whatever that means ???) I have been out of this market and I've come back. So you yourself, Dudeman2000 and that wannbe Jo JO cracko should stop running you right winged mouths!! I have the power at my cluster. You are just a low life jock who is jealous. I will just let the Arbitron book speak for all my decisions in August when the ratings come out...that will MIXX this board up!!:-* NUFF SAID, CLASSED DISMISSED....THE GREAT HOUDINI HAS SPOKEN!!!

Look, I don't have a problem with you being renewed to the scene. But not being able to take folks advice and discard it without trying to stamp them down speaks of insecurity issues to me.

It has absolutely nothing to do with my political preference, and quite frankly I'm leaning more left than right these days. How we speak about what is right or wrong is a viewpoint of which I don't believe belong to any political party. (I know I sure don't check what the Republican playbook is before I make my decisions on what I feel is right.)

And the manner of which you speak is condescending to everyone involved. Some might fire it right back. I only call things as I see them. If you had what I considered to be a decent thought process, I'd back you 100%. (Like I tried to back when you were first talking about what to do with an AM until I realized you weren't really listening.)

To refer to me as a low-life jock is not only crass and uncalled for, it's incorrect. If you had stopped to get to know me and find out what I'm about, you might have discovered that I was at one time a DJ/Announcer for a variety of stations, but that I abandoned it because I felt that I wouldn't be able to make it and opted to enlist in the U.S. Army and am now a Sergeant.

Start treating people with a little respect, even if they don't with you. You might find it goes a long way. Some day the "Great Houdini" might find himself in an amazing feat he can't get out of. *Chuckle* How appropriate.

Mr. Mahhhbles. You've labeled me as a 'right winger'.. How would you know that one way or the other ? Do you know me ? You appear to be obsessed with the ratings that don't mean a whole lot anyways in Market #179. Does it really matter, the only station that you care about in your portfolio will finish in the top 5 of the market, as older folks are better diary keepers than the younger crowd, and we know WJJR is a huge hit at the Gables and at Kendall... Buy the way, in regards to Z 97, when you giveaway a car, you need that one essential ingredient.. The car !! The last new car / lease giveaway done on Z 97 had all that and more. The only thing you have me beat at, is that you had a lot more lengthy meetings, and accomplished very little, and it shows. Remember in your isolated case, Pamal rhymes with Camel, and a camel is a horse designed by a committee.. I'll put my money where my mouth is anytime, anyplace.

Oh dammit Kracko, there you go again. Only "right-wingers" talk about committees! ;) ::)

You really ought to give the Arbitron thing a rest, he's obviously not biting, or if he is, he sure as hell ain't lettin on that he is.

So now I'm trying to figure out why it is he left the market, only to come back to it. Maybe a somewhat forced venture? One of the few places he'll be accepted? Of course these are all imagined because Mr. Marbles wouldn't be so bold as to be candid about something personal. Unless, you can fit it into a rant about ratings. ;D

And stop putting your money where your mouth is Kracko! It's dirty and gots germs all over it! :D
