Heh heh you should know quoting numbers is a no-no here
KKGO got around the same that the old KZLA used to get...but considering the % of their target audience compared to the population has probably decreased in the last year, what KKGO-FM got was not too disappointing.

KIIS on top English. I noticed that KRTH is very close to KOST in the 12+. Movin had a jump.
I wouldn't crow about KRTH or KOST. They were both down. Movin still remails at the bottom of all of the major FM's in the market.

If you're going to mention anything on the upside, mention Latino 96.3, K-Talk and Go Country 105. On the downside, Jack and KROQ.

Some time ago I know it was a no no, but from the Radio-Info FAQ page:

Q: Can Arbitron numbers be discussed on the message forums?

A: Discussion of Arbitron numbers is allowed and encouraged. Currently we cannot allow the posting of Arbitron ratings in list form with specific ratings for dayparts and demos...."

KBIG and Star look down again, but I don't know the 25-54 numbers.

Seasonality affects CHR's in SP and SU more, but being Hot AC's it's still interesting to compare to same book last year. Star is down a touch from Winter where they had a 2.0, now 1.8. But compared to a year ago Sp '06 where they had a 1.4, they are actually still up.

KBIG in Sp '06 did a 1.9 and has slid to 1.6 Sp '07.

It looks like KMVN has finally moved to a 1.2, so there's hope for them after all.

BTW could this spike might have something to do with KBIG's slip?

Hope? After nearly one year on the air Movin is a disaster. For the fortune they are paying Dees and his crew and this is all it gets? Listen to the station and you'll see they have very few major advertisers. A 1.2 is EMBARASSING for a major FM in Los Angeles. Movin doesn't dominate or even get close to dominating any demo. Rick Dees use to be the biggest number one morning talent in this market but he has totally lost it and has no clue anymore. His bits sound like they are rehashed from his shows in the 1980's. They don't relate to today. He has a "terrorist" alert color code before every newscast. Who cares and who wants to be reminded of that on what should be a light hearted entertaining show? He even allows himself to be "scolded" on the air about Hispanic culture by Patty "Longlegs" (no talent) Lopez. So much for the "Richardo Diaz" we knew for so long. Rick Dees, I am sorry to say, is a has been.

What is amazing is that a station (KKGO) that, except for a few bus boards, has rocketed past this joke called Movin that has spent more on tv and billboards in Los Angeles than any other single station in many years. And all it gets for it is to remain the lowest rated FM in the market. PATHETIC. Emmis shareholders should ask for the heads of Rick Cummings and Jeff Smulyan.

Talk about real winners in this market not stations that will soon disappear.

Los Angeles Morning Show Ratings (Los Angeles Times)

All Rick Dees got was a .2 increase 12+ and moves from 26th place to a tie for 23rd place. He has to be the higest paid loser ever in this market. That's all Emmis got for the millions they spent on marketing during the book? What a laugh! On the flip side, Ryan Seacrest, who has over 4 times the share of Dees, moves up to 3rd place (2nd English behind KFI's Bill Handel).

Have to agree that Movin is a joke. I'm sure nobody's laffin at Emmis. This is rather historic....as noted, a TON of cash spent for no numbers. Regarding the Dees bits, they are very likely recycled from back in the day. He became quite well known for doing that stuff and I see his laziness and approach hasn't changed. Looks like a good time to hit his spread in Kentucky and not come back. Dees is DONE.

Interesting that both Jack and K-rock are down. Since Keven Weatherly oversees both, I wonder if he's actually been in the building much lately. Surely doesn't appear so. Maybe time to take that record company offer that keeps popping up and bail out of C B Mess Radio?

After this book, I'm sure Kevin and everyone at KROQ can't wait for the PPM's to kick in come Jan. The state of the market should look much more favorably for them then. Same to be said for KLSX.

That's IF FM Talk is still alive as a format by then ;)

KLSX will be alive as long as it is a top biller in LA, which it is.

KKGO's 1.8 rating is astonishing with nothing but word-of-mouth responsible; no TV ads, no full-page ads in the LA Times, and very few signs on bus benches and the like.

Going from the worst morning show in the market since the Brian Roberts snooze-a-thon at KRTH to a state-of-the-art one cannot be downplayed; the on-the-air chemistry between Shawn Parr & Robin Banks is exceptional.

Jack hasn't been sounding all that hot lately. They've been dropping the ball on the imaging and I've heard some obsure songs played as of late. Maybe it's time to move to the next phase like live jocks, the original plan. The novelty is wearing off. Still the best processing in town though thanks to Scott Mason...

No one has brought it up, but the "black" plays are as dead as a doornail. KRBV still at a 1.5, KJLH at a 1.0 and KDAY at a 0.8. No wonder KDAY is bailing out, the real battle will be between KRBV and KJLH. It will be interesting to see Who wins, Winston and Monds or jocks in training on the fuzzy signal.
