Latest Charleston Ratings

Boston, "envy" comes in many forms. What is enviable is the fact that they are employed, in radio no less. Many radio pros with far more experience or talent are not.

So, what I meant to say was, envy their situation, not their talent - or lack thereof.

I hear ya. My point is: I left radio of my own volition. No worries.

But getting back to Q 104.5 im surprised no local morning show. The classic rocker in Myrtle Beach has a local morning show. I wonder if Clear Channel ever considered flipping because 101.7 Chuck would take over then.

Would someone translate this for me please?

I was saying how the Myrtle Beach classic rock station has a local show but a bigger market Charleston does not. So maybe Clear Channel should change the station as ratings aren't that great. And i bet people wouldn't miss Q as they would still have 101.7 Chuch FM.

Gotcha. CC does have a history with programming decent rockers (in Florida, see WJRR & WXTB). It would be quite easy to flip Q to something like that. It would kill 98.1. Let that Critic dude reprogram 98.1 into the Wave.

The Charleston area could use a small FM classic country station but then some big company would probably flip something to try and kill it, not knowing when to leave well enough a lone.

There are THREE country stations now! A fourth is not needed!

Three stations playing what radio chooses to call country music.

If I was in the Charleston area I would still be waiting for one. WJKB was the last one.

On that note, will anyone do anything with Walterboro's (former) 93.7?

Don't understand. You could point the antenna toward Charleston and get a better signal with that frequency. It already covered western Charleston and a lot of Dorchester.

Any number of formats could work there.

Classic Country is like Oldies. It has aged out to the point that no one with a real business plan would touch it.
