KSCA still on top. KIIS on top English.
KRTH holds steady.
KOST slips a bit.
Hot and Star are up.
KBIG slips further.
Of course, those are only the 12+ numbers.

It should be noted that the music mix at Movin is changing and you'll be hearing more KHHT music on Movin some of which is already in rotation (negative IMHO). Movin also had no billboards or tv spots in the market until this week since prior to the Memorial Day weekend so expect a weak June.
This station continues to be at the bottom of the heap and won't last out the year.
The real hole in this market continues to be a station that hits KIIS on the right side with as a more balanced CHR/Hot AC not playing oldies and going after KBIG.
Factor in curiosity for any bump. Emmis can not sustain $5 million for promoting this turkey for a bump that won't last.Radioresearcher said:nvrbbh said:Nice movement for Movin? From what I heard, they more than doubled from April to May - with shares north of a 2.0 in the 25-54 cell in May. LA Radio teased a story for tomorrow - so we'll see what that brings.
Once again, a 12+ rolling means nothing - so quit using it.

I am in total agreement on this statement, KKGO moved from a 1.2 to 1.7, and I believe as more people find out about the station these numbers will continue to rise.
They are currently in 19th for ratings in the Los Angeles Market.
Agreed. Look South to SD where Sophie at 103.7 just debuted Friday (6/22) and is accomplishing this with a slight AAA flair to it. Sophie reminds me of our old beloved KNX-FM with more of a CHR mentality. If I were CCLA, I would look at KYSR to be tweaked in this direction. It will still be part of their WOW (wall of women - to paraphrase Glenn here), but it will do a better job of capturing this hole for a current intensive balanced CHR/Hot AC that RadioResearcher so rightly points out is still vacant in this market.nvrbbh said:The real hole in this market continues to be a station that hits KIIS on the right side with as a more balanced CHR/Hot AC not playing oldies and going after KBIG.

IMHO, KYSR's good step of redefining itself a few months ago has now stalled. Their mix has become predictable and repetitive - how much can the same tired recurrents from artists like John Mayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soul Asylum, LINKIN PARK, etc. be played in what feels like heavy rotation? Their #s did creep up a bit but their recent trends seem to have plateaud.
Sophie is new, that newness could wear off in a month or so if their PD isn't on top of it, but I agree, if this is the next cool format, tweaking Star in this direction could be a good thing. The thing to remember with AC stations is that they're at the mercy of the record companies. Stations like KOST especially are always in need of new product and that's hard to come by at times...David at USC said:Agreed.
