I understand that it's a given that "legacy artists" will still earn spins on Hot AC stations well past their commercial expiration date, but it's kinda weird how it works, at least from my point of view. I read a Rolling Stone article on how programming AC stations (regular and Hot varieties) works, and discovered that Hot AC tends to stick to "over-30" artists more than Top 40 stations do. For example, the Backstreet Boys, an act whose prime was in the late-90s/very-early-2000s, had a single, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", in 2018. Top 40 stations ignored it, but it was being spun regularly on the Hot ACs.
What are some examples of new material from "legacy artists" that you've heard being spun on Hot AC stations?
