I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that Leon Gray is no longer on 680. According to the Flyer, Jerry Dean had no comment.

The morning show is getting better, Sam Seder (sp) and Janeen Garafalo are OK, but Franken is hard to listen to. I hope he runs for Senate and wins. Sorry to hear about Leon, he is a veteran broadcaster who can create intelligent and thought provoking programs. He sometimes wore his ethnicity on his sleeve and got a little offtrack.
The problem with progressive (or liberal) radio, at least locally, is finding advertisers. Even with a 6 ort 8 share, the format would struggle financially because of the "bible belt" conservative mentality that permeates this area. Local advertisers on 680 have told me that a good number of callers contacted them and threatened to boycott their store if they continued to advertise on that station......sad....but true. Years ago when WHBQ 56 was news talk, they had a great talent named John DeClough. He did great shows, but had no advertisers.....except Unpainted Furniture.
