Let's Move On!

Enough about Entercom my fellow posters. Let me help you all
out so you don't waste valuable thinking time. Trust me, these
predictions are more than solid:

1. KISW is set. This is the lineup and the company is excited.
Lykis will stay nights, unless Westwood can clear him at another
station in town. So far no takers.

2. KTTH will launch a new local morning show soon and Rush will not
move to KIRO as planned. THe only prediction I missed. I did not forsee
that the last three trends on KIRO (with Prell gone) have the station
skyrocketing. KIRO is now number one mid-days on the AM by a large margin.
I missed this one, but such is life.

3. KIRO is set. The last two trends have their entire lineup beating all
other AM's, except nights. Seahawks are bringing home the weekends and KIRO
will be the station to watch for numbers increases in FALL. IKNOWITALL!

4. THE WOLF is what it is. This is not a stunt, they are Country and I predict (or maybe I know) that their new morning show begins in Winter.

5. KNDD becomes the music winner, since they are the only full-market station
playing male rock music around the clock

6. KMTT contines to look for a PD, but is doing fine.

7. KBSG is days away from signing their morning show to a multi-million dollar long-term deal.

8. Robin and John have settled out of court, have made some money are not headed to KJR-FM.

Those are all the changes on Entercomm. We will know this time next year if it
all worked.

The changes are made, IKNOWITALL predicted most of them. Yet all of my other predictions came with little inside knowledge, just a pyschic connection to the future of Seattle radio and a knack for understanding ratings. Hold me...touch me...feel me...IKNOWITALL!!!!

PEACE OUT

IKNOWITALL you will be missed, especially now that
the market has a clue as to who you really are. No
wonder you knew so much about Entercomm. Fun!

From a sales point of view, advertisers are cheering.
The WOLF provides a solid alternative to KMPS and unlike
JACK has proven itself in multiple markets over the
long term. Some clients will make the jump, especially
the low rate business. KMPS is expensive and will need
to come down on rates to keep some direct business. Agencies
will wait to see if WOLF has numbers. Unlike JACK, if WOLF
gets a strong book or two they will be bought. WOLF will
definitely make more money than the BUZZ, even if the ratings
aren't as strong. They provide a second country option for
advertisers and demand is much higher for that. Good move.

KISW is a different matter. Without STERN and with TALK in
the afternoons and mornings there will be downward rate
pressure on KISW until these shows prove themselves. KZOK is
the short-term winner here, but if KISW does rate, look for a
horse race between these two stations for advertisers dollars.

KIRO does indeed look strong and the battle with KOMO for AM
dollars will be interesting. Advertisers love it because it
creates downward rate pressure on both. KTTH has lost the
battle with KVI, which is probably why they are changing, though
both stations get few agency buys because of low ratings and content.

KMPS will bill the most money in 2005, followed by KIRO, and KZOK.
Four stations are virtually tied for fourth place KRWM, KPLZ, KMTT,
and KBKS. My guess is next year the gap between fourth and first will
decline, as KMPS and KIRO continue to drop due to four book ratings
declines and low cost options like WOLF (instead of KMPS) and KOMO (instead of KIRO). The big winners in 2006 are advertisers.

The next station you work at, learn how to spell the names of the hosts with bigger ratings than yours... "Leykis".

They already have, and the station continues to dwindle. Its brief time doing better than KVI has long ended, and its C-list hosts that fill the day won't carry it against a strong KIRO.

Did you have to look into your crystal ball for that one?

Love that hold me, touch me, feel me comment. GAY, GAY, GAY, GAY, GAY!!! I sense iknowitall is jealous as a rabid, horny legion of Leykis 101 fans couldn't care less what he/she thinks. I don't want to know what iknowitall looks like naked. Has anyone ever spent more than $40 on you on a date? Inquiring minds want to know.
