But that's on AM. Entirely different story. But I still don't think CC would do oldies here, even on FM. MJI is a good station, but helped by big-time station heritage. Even if CC Columbus were inclined to try FM Oldies, they'd overlap bigtime with the 93.3 format that I'm so fond of (cough, cough).
AAA would make sense. So would Smooth Jazz, especially if they're gunning for Saga.
I note that CC, which hasn't done many Jack-like stations, just started one in Louisville called Louis. This station took over rock WTFX's frequency, bumping the Fox to a suburban simulcast. Maybe they think they could wipe away Ted in short order with, say, Chris. Of course, Nabco is no longer the big nemesis that it was when Jacor owned LVQ. And Ted no longer proclaims, "We're not owned by Clear Channel. Now, isn't THAT refreshing." (Maybe Fish realized he'd better not taunt CC, since some CC stations in other markets are core clients of his on-the-side internet-request-notification service.) OTOH, Nabco WAS one of the parties opposing the CC move-ins. But so was Infinity.
Anyway, in line with my frequent rant about how CC's Columbus management has a pathological fear of even the tiniest musical overlap between their properties, I'm placing my bets on all-Polka.
Regarding the 103.5 Saga move-in mentioned above, does anyone know tha status and/or how good the signal will be?<P ID="signature">______________
