It wasn't just FM (then again, why would it be?) I got WLNY 55 (West Islip) without breaking a sweat when I rescanned OTA HDTV in Freehold...
A pretty regular visitor in summer, with tropo. WLIW as well. I assume you are on an outdoor antenna, as I can't imagine OTA HDTV working in Freehold without one!
Nope - indoor amplified tabletop antenna (RCA brand.) Second floor, sitting fairly high (on a 6 foot shelf.) Pretty good tropo! (I did get WLIW that night, too.)
Generally, 2 and 4 (PSIP, of course) are reliable. 9HD/5SD less so, but still fairly okay - sometimes, I'll also get 5HD/9SD. A simple FM dipole gets me 7/11/13 (discovered in frustration during the Oscar cable blackout) better than the amplified rabbit-ears - go figure. Also, 47, 23/50/53 and 67/68 come in at times (not to mention 69 and its seven sub-channels...)
Honestly, Freehold's getting more readable signals than I ever expected, to the point where an outdoor antenna is actually a viable idea (I mean, it's gotta be better than amplified tabletop loop/rabbit-ears, right?)
