....LIKE A G6 CROSSING OVER TO.... URBAN?

WOW, WVEE is not trying to add "Like A G6" to its regular rotation! BTW, it is playing the regular single version, not the 50 Cent remix.

I do wonder; If V103 started using Rihanna's "only girl" in the mix, would it turn out to be successful? After all, I've heard them use David Guetta & Akon "Sexy Bitch" once. I believe The Heat on Sirius/XM uses Rihanna's "only girl", and I'm sure it couldn't hurt or be "any worse" on V103 than when WHTA was playing "sensual seduction" by Snoop or "take you there" by Sean Kingston.

I think it all depends on how receptive the mix show audience would be with the song. If anyone would try that in the mix it would be Baby Yu since we both know he is known for his spontaneity and risking taking for urban radio mixes.

V103 is now playing "only girl in the world" by Rihanna (Now playing as in it's being played on the station). They're also playing "don't let me fail" by B.O.B.

Sirius/XM Channel 67 The City which is Urban is also playing both of those songs.

It seems as if "only girl" by Rihanna was dropped, but I see "Dj got us falling in love" by Usher is back to getting some plays on V103. I also notice an odd increase in "swing my way" by KP&NV play.

I do wonder; Now that V103 is embracing the new generation "booty bass sound" (A.K.A. electro-hip hop), will they eventually use this new Akon & Ludacris track in a mix? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBH3zTn4MW4

"Only Girl" and "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" are both mix show spins. On the throwbacks, V seems to always do this during the winter months to increase TSL thus leads to higher ratings in the monthly PPM. They are embracing the new trend of music, but it won't be unless the song becomes a local hit before you see it a drastic increase in spins.

The City is back?

That would be awesome if the City came back its not on Sirius XM as far as I can tell.

Didn't realize channel 67 rebranded as Hip Hop Nation. I thought it was still Channel 67 The City

What's with that. KKBT 100.3 The Beat played Justin Timberlake when he came out with justified in 2002. Heck They played gone by N'Sync in late 2001. So What.

A number of rhythmic-oriented singles will get picked up by more liberal urban radio stations. It's been occurring since the 1980s when Madonna's songs "Holiday", "Borderline" got spins on urban radio stations when she is clearly a pop artist.
