WZOQ-FM, WODH-FM, WUZZ-FM

Hot AC WZOQ (92 ZOO) evolves to Adult Top 40 as "Modern Hit Music - STAR 92.1." Syndicated morning hosts BOB & SHERI move to sister AC WDOH (LITE ROCK 107.1). DAN BAISDEN and CHRIS CONNOR continue to hold down middays and afternoons at WZOQ.

Sounds interesting! Just in time for CC's Lima cluster to sell. Still haven't heard any word on potential buyers for them.

I get To Lima frequently and usually switch back and forth between WZOQ and WUZZ. I remember an announcement on WZOQ mentioning that Bob and Sherri were moving to 107.1(heard this 2 weeks ago) Also noticed a difference in what WZOQ was playing but at that time they were still calling it 92 Zoo. Intersing about WUZZ. Are they any better as The Eagle? I'll have to check it out next time I'm in town. Are they(WUZZ)still running "Nights with Alice Cooper"? I also noticed that while WZOQ and WUZZ are 3 kilowatts respectively, I can get WZOQ as far away as Meeker in Western Marion County While WUZZ reaches no further than downtown Kenton.

They both sure sound great on the air. The Eagle rocks more than it used to, thats the most noticable change and the morning show is hillarious. WUZZ is 3,000 watts but on a very short tower off 4th street downtown. WZOQ is 3,000 watts but on a really tall tower on the highest point in the area (Cridersville).

Long time fan of radio here. Finally got a radio-info account, lots of fun to come...

I've had a chance to listen to the stations since the switch and I believe the change is for the better. Whoever is programming the stations knows what they are doing -- ALSO -- from a financial aspect, this fresh change comes just in time to capitalize on any outstanding money hanging in the market due to the uncertainty surrounding the CC Lima sale.

I agree. I really enjoy not having to flip stations to hear John Tesh. He sure is a superb talent and it will fit great with the overall lineup on 107.1 and while its very sad to see 92Zoo disappear, the new Star 92.1 sounds great.

I am curious about one thing though... How did Lite Rock 107.1 manage to snag John Tesh from WMLX, Mix 103.3?

And if memory serves me well, wasn't WMLX the last Delilah affiliate in Lima? She is now gracing the airwaves of Lite Rock 107.1.

Looks like Lite Rock 107.1 is making all the right moves!

Kudos to whoever is programming it!

Tesh was a GREAT move. He was top dawg in Lima ratings for afternoon drive, so are Bob and Sheri as well Delilah back in her days about 3 years prior.

They have a web-site at starlima.com. Its not up but someone told me that you will be able to view the last 100 songs they played once its up and running. One article said that its "Adult Top 40" playing more Nickelback, Kelly Clarkson and the like.

Interesting about WZOQ going "star"...hope it works...they need something hot to compete with Wild 93.9. I've heard it a couple of times up in that area and I think it's the right way to go...but will miss "Zoo"

Question...how is Froggy 93 doing and what was their original call sign? used to be album or new rock back in the 90s weren't they????

Is ESPN on WLJM doing well? Glad to hear Koz back on the radio but do miss the Dutchess,Playboy J,Tom Joyner, and the other DJs on the former 940 JAMZ before it went to that generic sounding "hits and oldies" sattelitte stuff...Seems that JAMZ went down after 9/11 and the emergence of "Wild."

We will all miss Zoo, but I think Star sounds great.

Froggy is Numer 2 in the market edging out T102 in most demos. The rok station did well, but never gained enough momentum.

I dont know much about ESPN

I do have to admit that I am sad to see 22 years of heritage gone with the Zoo. I grew up on this station and have many tapes from the mid 90's., and a zoo tshirt that I got for writing a "fan letter" to one of the jocks when I was in middle school.

Although it is sad to see it gone, just like everyone else I believe the 92zoo name was wore out, became stale, and was very predictable. Nice to see a refreshing change.

agreed..it will be very much missed, but a change sure is good.

How true...but considering the comparisons of its predicsssors...92 Zoo was a class act in the beginning. Beforehand, WAXC 92 sounded professional but its owner was a self-seeking big fish RKO General-type head-honcho wannabe in the small pond of Moulton, but on the other side, his professionalism raised it up from the ashes of local yokel WERM..and made the right decision to move the xmtr to Cridersville so it can be in the Lima market.

I've been listening to the new STAR and I have to tell you, it really is refreshing. I love active rock and some pop, but I can't stand Rap. It's nice to not have to change the channel due to an annoying TI or Fat Joe song.

I was one of the first jocks on WAXC 92 when John Bulmer bought it after running the former WPNM in Ottawa. I saw the place in the last days of WERM, with E.C. Miller playing scratched up rock and roll 45s for his buddies. JB was a pain in the ass to work for, given to temper tantrums and theatrics. Then there was the time, thinking that everyone in Wapakoneta and St. marys was over 65, he flipped to Music of Your Life. Nuff said!

Does anyone know what happened to Ed LeVoir and Mark Mackey who used to be with those properties back when Forever owned them and through the sale to Maverick??? I'd like to get back in touch with them. I used to work with them.
