Lima Radio - major changes!

Any idea where they ended up? I know Mark left soon after the sale to Maverick, but I thought Ed stuck around. Are they still in Lima?

Last I heard....Mark Mackey is in Kentucky as a GM for one of the Forever/Keymarket clusters there. Ed is still in the area...I think he was going into real estate. I saw him a couple of months ago. Happy as could be.

Just thought I'd pass that on.....

Is Dan Dietz still engineer at Star and the other Maverick stations?

I remember his Sunday polka show on the former WAXC 92 on Sundays.

Ray Tanner used to be engineer at WDOH and a few other stations, He was one of WDOH's founders if my memory serves me correctly. Is Ray still alive and kickin' and still recording polka bands at his Van Wert studio?

Ray was indeed one of WDOH's founders and a contract engineer for WCSM, WMVR and others. Would be interested to know if he's still around.

Yes...Dan Dietz is still the engineer of Star and the other Maverick stations....

Thanks for the input on Dan Dietz and Ray Tanner.

One more question..what's the local buzz on GoodRadio.TV LLC purchasing Clear Channel's Lima cluster? Hope all the local stations remain untouched formatwise and hopefully bring back local personalities to T-102 and The Big Buck.
(WTTF up in Tiffin would sound better with personalities when they play music I might add..also wish "Majic" WYNT would go back to oldies.)

It's been awhile since the announcement has been made.....it'll be interesting to see the Spring book when it comes out at the end of the month.
Being on the "inside" of the Maverick building and seeing the changes first hand, I believe Star and Eagle are on the right track. Dan Baisdan and Bill Rice have done a great job with Star and Eagle. With ESPN catching on, Froggy getting stability with Brian Steel as their new PD and Lite Rock 107.1 having Bob and Sheri, John Tesh and Delilah....the folks across the street will have an uphill battle on their hands....it'll be fun this fall.

Ray is CE of the Fox/ABC/CBS low power TV stations, http://www.foxlima.com is where you can get address info. I'm not sure, but I think Ray also helped with the Celina/St Mary's stations.

Calls of 940 are now WZOQ (ex-WLJM) with ESPN.

And Playboy Jay runs audio for the NBC affiliate in the morning for newscasts.

Glad to hear that Ray is still okay......Thanks again for the input...now let's do the chicken dance!

We all know the program director of The Zoo....I mean Star is up here bragging his WEAK 4.3 radio station. They are on their website saying they are #1 and growing........WHAT A JOKE! :D
Wild is #2 in the Market behind T. There is NO way WEAK92 can EVER be #2 in the market. Read this carefully......Mr. Program Director....Ms. Midday Girl and Kennedy...if that is your real name....you will NEVER even come close to Wild. The END!

The abundance of postings from "northcoastradio" when star went on the air, and the content of those posts (I read ALL of them) make it very clear that "northcoastradio" is an employee of Maverick, who quite possibly, used to work on the "north coast". Sandusky, Ohio comes to mind.

Hmmmm... I wonder what employee at Maverick used to work in Sandusky?

And now that the numbers are out and 92.1 is worse than ever, the posts from "northcoastradio" have ceased.

As for the rest of the crew at Maverick - no offense. Your stations sound pretty good. It just really ticks me off when somebody hops on here and tells people how great they are (with absolutely no proof).

Now, the proof is here. What do you have to say?

Last time I checked 12+ mean a pile of sh*t when it comes to ratings. One must dive inside the actual demos. As I peel through the book infront of my eyes, 92.1 seems to be right on 93.9's ass in the core demos.

Funny - every trend I saw in persons and women 18-34 and 25-54 trended flat or down. Shed some light on these "key" demos where they are up 93.9's ass.

Women 18-34 92.1 trended up 7 shares, Women 18-49 92.1 trended up almost 4 shares. It was simply a good book for the entire CHR format across the country. Oh my, I forgot that your almost 45 and still programming a childrens format in Lima?

I don't program a radio station, and am nowhere near 45, but if I was 45 and programmed a children's radio station in Lima, I'd be very proud that I had no viable competition. And I'd also be proud that I forced the 20 year heritage Children's station in the market to change it's brand after 3 years.

Yeah, sounds like Kentucky waterfalls is a friend of the northcoast. Really, speaking out of her rear. I saw the book and yeah they gots gain, but with any format change there will be a "spring" in the book. Really, the station is all over the map formatically. I mean they play NO rap, right? Or at least they say so in their imaging and what do I hear? Mims...last time i checked...that's fairly rappish:) Now, I'm not out to dog star. It's taken a direction for the better. Sounds good. The thing that gets me.....star is right about where the zoo was when wild signed on back in 2003.
Competiton will only make for better radio. And I'm sure both stations will sound even better from here on out. As for kiddy stations.....hahaha..that's CHR dingy....duh.
Slingin' out your hate goes nowhere, kentucky.

Now, I'm back to C-BUS
