Word is that Bold Gold is buying Lite 94.3/WNAK/WCDL ???
Price: a half million. Some of the paperwork has been signed

More free advertising for Mohegan Sun.

I think I just heard Paula Degnan say "What, sold? Again?"

Just what this market needs---another oldies station. They turned 104.9 around but I don't think they're savvy enough to do it with another radio station.

ehhhhhhh---now that I think of it-------
it would make sense for them to put The Game on the AM's , but it WOULDN'T make sense to simulcast the FM's---it seems to me their coverage areas are too similar and it would do them no good. Maybe I'm wrong but I think they would do well to tweak the current format on 94.3 a little bit.

WHATEVER happens, I wouldn't want to see Paula or Ellen get canned...particularly after they've held that place together for who knows how long....

They should try something out of the box like modern rock,I don't think hip hop would take off too well. All the stations repeat in this market. We could use a change, I think WILK made the biggest change in a long time. Putting the game on 94.3 would be boring, any out of box ideas?

Talk.

Take some wind out of 103.1's sails.

I think they could lure a market name or two away from their present employ. The one's I have in mind could easily kick Nancy and Kevin's butt.

I know, it's expensive to pay people to sit there. It's affordable if people listen to it.

again a repeate

Out of the box is like capturing lightning in a bottle, almost impossible to succeed. Who's going to take the chance with anything "out of the box"?

And modern rock? Who does that appeal to, 18 to 34? The ones with their music on their telephones? And how lucrative is THAT demo? Plus how is that out of the box?

Of course talk is a repeat. Everything is a repeat. Unless the circumstances are VERY unusual, some version of a repeat is what you need. The key is dominating the source. Whatever it is you're repeating you have to run it over.

An all-day local talk station? Local AM and PM drive and to go against Rush middays and Savage at night? That's out of the box within the repeat. Chance-y to be sure but a helluva lot better idea than playing music for the kid who can't find his iPod.

If Ownership would have left Mike Kay- Roger and some other key folks from Prospect Street it would have been a viable station But then again what can you expect from people who take a proven format and change it to Taco Bell radio and no I'm not talking about the Mexican phone company.Bottom line if it aint broke don't fix it
