I don't think you are seeing WHY voicetracking is satan. It is excellent for an overnight shift, and some weekend shifts. I understand that. But more and more stations are RELYING on voicetracking, and track basically their entire broadcast day.
That sucks. Why does it suck? Voicetracking = less jobs for the "new guys and gals" who want to get their start. It sucks the originality out of radio.
Yes, voicetracking can SOUND good. I'm not talking about the end-listener...I am talking about people inside the industry. Soon enough these stations will be jockless. When a jock from Detroit is "spinning the hits" over an MP3 on a station in Ft. Lauderdale, that pisses me off.
