Local New Year's Eve coverage

Apparently WJKT carried Fox's special at the right time. Either the schedule I saw was wrong or they came to their senses and changed their plans.

For the first time since I can remember, the Space Needle cancelled fireworks in Seattle. KING aired a light show instead due to high winds, at 12:00am. They will attempt to fire 'em off at 2AM (Hawaii midnight) but it's not guaranteed.
Dallas did a good show this year, but nowhere near London and Sydney...my god! Incredible!
Happy 2020 everyone!

Is there only one performance stage this year in Times Square?

Don't think so. I saw some performances exclusive to FOX or NBC that were not on Rockin' Eve. In fact, I saw the two Andy's on CNN's coverage as streams of confetti fell below them. Apparently the red confetti was for the end of BTS's performance for Rockin Eve...

Even the Times Square clock was different this year - thanks to Volkswagen.

Each network has its own performance. The other networks can't avoid the audio from whoever is playing, even if it's not one of theirs.

Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins might actually have been good but I didn't have time to find out. They were in another one of the cities.

I didn't see that. What do you mean?

I know ABC's clock in the lower left corner was a second off. Someone usually is, either the people yelling or the "official" countdown clock.

For anyone thinking ABC wouldn't acknowledge their news magazine, they introduced the new year a few minutes early with Hugh Downs and Barbara Walters through the years welcoming us to 2020 (actually "20/20").

It looks like they had less stages this year. Every network gets a platform but as for performances it looks like they all used the central Planet Fitness stage.

The blue digital clock below the ball had a VW logo in the middle and a small ball going around clockwise to midnight. I've never noticed that before. There was also a billboard honoring the ending of VW Beetle production.

Saw the 20/20 opens with Barbara Walters.

I have a small TV so I don't notice such details.

After I posted here last, I watched my recording of Carson Daly. Apparently ABC didn't bother to show that part of the clock in its close-ups but NBC did.

I enjoyed NBC's look back at the decade, which I didn't see live because I was trying to catch up.

So this is going to be one of the strangest New Year's in modern history w/ Covid. At this point, is anybody other than the Times Square networks doing a non-virtual show or any type of coverage even w/o a live audience? Seattle cancelled and went 'virtual' and so did Las Vegas, leaving PT time out in the cold.

Maybe somewhere in Florida or Texas or Louisiana, where restrictions have been pretty loose throughout?

I know Nexstar usually have new years specials done on a regional basis but this year that May be replaced with a "Virtual edition" Just like what Nexstar O&O KTLA stated when they were talking about a Rose Parade Replacement for their Los Angeles audiences.

I watch for the floats. You can describe what kind of plants were used if you want. Other than that, I see nothing here that I would watch.

New Years in Las Vegas would be a virtual implosion according to this release.
I don't remember which year it was but it was the first time I ever saw a V-chip rating, right as it was happening. At midnight Eastern time, Las Vegas had a literal implosion of one if its high-rises.
