Local New Year's Eve coverage

Fox News has done them in the past. I can see it now, "Fox News New Years Eve 2022! Special guests Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, Madison Cawthorn, Jim Jordan, Jean Garafalo, and President Donald Trump, along with Don Jr, Eric and Ivanka!"

Keep in mind that Nashville is in the Central time zone, so when the clock hits midnight on the East Coast, there won’t be any “countdown”. I’m sure eyeballs will be on ABC at that time.
CBS to Ring in the New Year with "New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash" A Star-Studded Entertainment Special on Friday, Dec. 31

The broadcast will cross multiple time zones, with the traditional countdown at midnight ET, culminating with the renowned Nashville music note drop and fireworks at midnight CT.

I liked the New Year's Eve around the World in 2000. I imagine one can stream those celebrations now. I follow an Australian tourism page and usually see the Sydney celebation.

From the article:
First-announced performers include Jason Aldean, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay, Elle King, Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell and Zac Brown Band, with additional artists to be announced at a later date.
An impressive lineup, but missing three very big names: Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs, critical darling finally turned hitmaker Chris Stapleton, and the guy who sold more country albums than anyone else this year, Morgan Wallen. Somehow, I don't think the TBAs are going to include all three.

Maybe not, but they could play the Dick Clark game, which is to use pre-recorded live performances from other things. The producer of this show also does the CMA Awards and the summer special. Of course those shows are on ABC, so he has a problem there. But some of the major artists have been recording their performances lately. They call it "gathering content." Some of it gets used in music videos, some of it is used for web content, and some might show up in this special.

This just in to my email box: The TBA's have been announced, and it's still missing your big three:

I saw a commercial for this. Very unpleasant. It was followed by a commercial for "Love for Sale", the new LP by Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. Sounded great.

NBC's New Year's Eve show to originate in Miami. Which means it'll be warmer, and fewer covid rules:

It'll be produced by Lorne Michaels, and streamed on Peacock.

Carson Daily gets the night off this year.
I like the idea of Pete Davidson as host. Miley might be okay too but I'd probably skip over her singing, if there is any.

Let’s hope not
The dance class I attended when I was in Junior High was all taken to a New Year's party with Lester Lanin and His Orchestra at the Alcazar Hotel in Cleveland (sound stodgy yet?). He played mostly songs from the 40's and I wanted to look in a mirror to see if I had suddenly aged by about 30 years.

I certainly can't imagine any of that on the radio anywhere today... even in "The Villages".
