I used to like 1260 WIBV when it was a talk station before Tim Dorsey bought it that was mostly focused on the East side with Limbaugh, Chuck Harder, Bruce Williams, and others. Other ones that come to my mind - "Breeze 97" KLTH 97.1 circa 1988 or 89 when it ran a very interesting "New Adult Contemporary" format that was sort of an early version of the Smooth Jazz format. I also really enjoyed Smooth Jazz on KNJZ 100.3 FM circa 1990-1993, and again on Smooth 106.5 WSSM circa 2000 - 2006 or therabouts.
I liked the Classic Country format on the last incarnation of WIL-AM before Bonneville sold the station; 104.1 "The Mall" WMLL with the 80s format around 2000-2003 or so; Contemporary Christian 104.9 WCBW 1980s to 1998; although Joy FM is a reasonable faxsimilie. KADI AM with oldies in the early 80s at 1320AM, KGLD 1380, and Kool 590 WKLL also with oldies. Also miss the Beautiful Music format of KEZK 102.5 circa the 1980s, and 101 WMRY circa mid to late 80s with a Progressive AOR format.
