I have it on good authority that 97.5 the FM News Channel is looking for weekend board ops with Scott System experience. Not sure what a Scott System is exactly, but I think it's something like a computerised steering wheel of a contemporary radio station--the thing that keeps commercials and shows on the air. They'd also need to know how to read a commercial log and insert spots if needed. Not sure if there's any weekend newscasts other than AP News at the top of the hour. I'd apply if I had any radio experience or knew what board op was or did specifically.
I't's my understanding that eventually most of their weekend programming will be syndicated with some locally produced, pre-recorded shows thrown in. I think right now, the weekends are in a tweaking mode. Nevertheless, they're looking to hire board ops immediately. As in today---this week in order to begin this weekend. Anybody interested should call the station. I was told there are still different morning, evening and overnight shifts available.
