Looking for board ops

I have it on good authority that 97.5 the FM News Channel is looking for weekend board ops with Scott System experience. Not sure what a Scott System is exactly, but I think it's something like a computerised steering wheel of a contemporary radio station--the thing that keeps commercials and shows on the air. They'd also need to know how to read a commercial log and insert spots if needed. Not sure if there's any weekend newscasts other than AP News at the top of the hour. I'd apply if I had any radio experience or knew what board op was or did specifically.

I't's my understanding that eventually most of their weekend programming will be syndicated with some locally produced, pre-recorded shows thrown in. I think right now, the weekends are in a tweaking mode. Nevertheless, they're looking to hire board ops immediately. As in today---this week in order to begin this weekend. Anybody interested should call the station. I was told there are still different morning, evening and overnight shifts available.

You mean Scott Studios, dont you??? One of the most popular digital audio automation systems on the market....very user friendly for the board op..
Info is available at www.scottstudios.com (SS32 is the control room software)

Makes sure the system continues to play ok...(A baby sitter for the most part)...makes sure the commercials are played as logged, the board is operating alright and calls engineering/programming if there are any problems.

I've put in for the posistion, a few weeks back. Haven't heard anything yet I've been out of radio for abotu 5 years though, but it's not rocket science if you have knowledge of the software. I have years of experience with Scott Studios, Shortcut by 360, Sound Forge, Pro Tools, you name it. I own the software personally (Scott Studios). The software isn't that tight between segs, Segging manually is the preferred recomendation

You can do anything with the software. They sale the hardware an software together. The price on it is thousands of dollars. I landed my hands on the system through eBay. It's a few versions old.

It is a baby sitting posistion for the most part.

Hey ErectDis,

Now's the time to act. If you're still interested in doing some weekend board opping, I'd bet you'd have a much better chance at landing something now than you did a month ago. Contact the station ASAP...but hurry, good shifts are going fast. Not sure, but there may be some nightime, late night/early AM spots available on Saturday and Sunday. So, if you're interested or know anyone who might be, I know they're looking to hire ASAP.

Good luck!
