No offense, but John Gibson???!!! What is this trend with people who've never done radio shows before suddenly launching into syndication? Stop it already! Doyle, Gibson, Snow... ugh, ugh, ugh. Mind you, Gibson is live 6-9pm ET, so even if you're on the east coast (which it seems you're not), he still wouldn't be all live.
"True, Savage gets good numbers, but I personally think the guy is difficult to listen to. Please keep the suggestions coming. "
Your listeners apparently disagree with you. Although I would admit TRN is difficult to work with, they force other crap on you, and the engineering is crap.
I know this is anathema in this day and age, but why not go LOCAL? Listeners appreciate having live/local talk at night. How much can it cost? If that's out of the question, move the syndicated talker on in PMD to nights and go local earlier.
As to Miller and Majority Report (another headscratcher, what are you people thinking?), if you don't have any listeners with conservative talk, then flip to liberal talk, but don't do some hodge-podge routine. Maybe Ed Schultz buried late at night, but even he doesn't have much entertainment value to salvage his progressive views in the minds of your RW audience. Not that libtalk should be out of the question, but if you require entertainment value without flipping to libtalk, why not Glenn Beck? Get on board while the TV show is still on. Or, while I can't stand her, Laura Ingraham is viewed by some as entertaining. Who cares if it's live? Ingraham, for example, is on at 8pm in NYC and 10pm in Boston. I'd say WABC and WTKK know something about programming.
