Thank You Josh! By Gosh!!!!
Indie Shmimdie!
So how is KOLA doing these days?
Who Flips next?
Who Wins the ratings for the whole year?
What about the HD Radios where the hell are they for the public?
When will the price come down?
Will it (HD Radio) work to capture the publics attention? I think its a very very very long shot, and in the dark to! While blind into the public market place.
What about the fine radio folks at KABC what's up with them for the new year?
Will they gain any ground on KFI?
And speaking of KFI. What's going on with the project to replace their wrecked tower?
What wonderful personalities make it or break it this year?
Will KRTH surive? Or die under it's new PD and CBS Radio Inc. mismanagement?
Sounds to me that there is lots to take into consideration and talk about this year! Indie Shimdie! Enough already!!!
Oh! by the way lets not forget about Jack-FM will the station last? Or go down in flames?
Will the famous DE ever start taking the time to proof read his posts before putting them on the board? Happy New Year to All!!!! Merry Christmas Too!

I'm confused. Is "Mr. Michaels" the same as "RyanCA?" Or "KM Richards?" Or "Radio Researcher?" Or "Foley?" 'Cuz all of those people posted first. And the original, "cheerleading" post was perfectly on-topic. Others chose to get in the mix.

Anyway, I think KABC will try to make some changes in their daytime lineup soon. I think KFI will finally remove Dr. Laura. I think Star will improve a bit in the ratings. Jamie will be gone by the end of the year. I think there will be a surprise or two at KIIS, in terms of airstaff, but I have no idea what they'll do. I think Hot will try another morning show, which I hope will include Diana Steele, who is awesome. And I think Adam Carolla will have a tough row to hoe.

I think Adam Carolla's success will be the story of the year! And that by the end of the year he will be CBS Radio's Free FM's morning show host nationwide!!
Then again what in the world do I know! Just remember if this comes to pass, that you all heard it here first on the LA Radio Board! lol lol...

Re: Ok everyone, back on topic!

> Indie Shmimdie!
> So how is KOLA doing these days?

wobbly, like always. It seems to bounce all around int he top 6 statons, and can go as much as a point up or down in each trend. No LA numbers, nada, zilch.

> Who Flips next?

KLYY, followed by the 103.1 stations.

> Who Wins the ratings for the whole year?

KIIS, Power in 18-34. KSCA and KLVE and KCBS in 25-54.

Chip designs and design specs given to the taiwanese and Chinese about 90 days ago. Look for many recievers towards end of year, more in 2007.

> When will the price come down?

Same time.

Lots and lots of promotion is coming... billions of dollars worth.

I heard it will go up in the next few months. Since the ratings actually have gone up since the fall, I guess they are in no real hurry.

> Oh! by the way lets not forget about Jack-FM will the

They are and have been looking for a buyer. No one seems to want it.

> Will the famous DE ever start taking the time to proof read

Nope.

Am I in Bizzaro world?

Radio geek, you started a thread asking what would 2006 hold for LA radio.

The first response to that post was on the subject of Indie, and it wasnt made by me

The second response, by KM, was about Indie.

How is it that I hijacked this thread?

I am simply disagreeing with the first 2 responses.

You guys need to lighten up and get off my back.

Perhaps even apologize if you are a man.

Re: Chchchchanges.

As you can read, I didn't bring up Indie in this thread.

RyanCA did, and you jumped right on it.

I am simply disagreeing with your statement, which I've learned is a no no around here.

It's a safe bet to say that eventually all stations will go away or change in one form or another.

You must admit that for all the times I've disagreed with you that Indie was imminently doomed, I have been right.

Yes, Indie will eventually go away.
So will this board and all it's members.

To change the subject,

I agree, Carrola will do well. He is very talented and entertaining.
The question has never been answered, who will replace him on Loveline?

Re: Revisionists

Simple truth is that it is revisionist because the JSA DID end and Entravision decided NOT to flip Indie.

Another year has passed...Entravision has decided NOT to flip Indie.

I think its awfully misleading to say it will "eventually" happen.
In fact just about EVERY frequency in L.A. has flipped at one point or another.

So...are you actually making the prediction that 103.1 will flip to "Jose" THIS YEAR?

Your opinion, unsupported by anyone except Nick, who is on thin ice again.

> Another year has passed...Entravision has decided NOT to

Another year has passed, but this one is ending with Entravision researching whether or not to use the 103.1s as part of a José trimulcast.

But, for some reason, none of those flips causes thread hijacking.

Based on the fact that Entravision is researching that possibility, I believe it could happen before we are too far into the New Year. And I have already explained why that would make sense to Entravision (low overhead, combo sales, etc.).

If it doesn't and Indie dodges the bullet again, good for it. But the odds of survival get lower every time it does.
______________

Re: Am I in Bizzaro world?

As I recall, Bizarro world operated contrary to logic and common sense. So perhaps, Nick, you are there.

> The second response, by KM, was about Indie.

Let's be accurate. My response to RyanCA was obviously phrased to prevent further Indie comments.

> How is it that I hijacked this thread?
>

You could have let it die. I agree with Josh. Your participation has done more to refocus this thread on Indie than anyone's.

> You guys need to lighten up and get off my back.

And you need to stop repeating yourself. Your reputation has now become "I believe Indie will last forever, regardless of the realities of the radio business."

Even if you phrase it differently, that is what you are perceived as saying. It is too late for you to defend yourself. Your protestations fall on deaf ears.

> Perhaps even apologize if you are a man.

Why? You've never apologized for any of the things you've said about people.
______________

My opinion??? Yes...its my opinion that it did not happen when the JSA ended as you had predicted.

Now THATS opinion.... I'd offer that everytime Indie "dodges the bullet" and Entravision decides against a flip...its a vote FOR keeping the
format in place. In fact, I'll go as far as saying that Indie 103.1 will STILL be on the air one year from today.
But maybe someday...many years from now....you'll eventually be right.

Also...watch for flips inside of Infinity group before anything happens with Indie 103.
