And Zorro, was a fictional character in "Old California" created by a non-Hispanic!Look at my profile pic. They don't get any whiter than me (well, okay, Zuckerberg and Conan O'Brien)---and I have always said L.A. was Zorro's hometown long before it was mine.
Yeah, but...And Zorro, was a fictional character in "Old California" created by a non-Hispanic!

The Story of the Real Life Zorro, Joaquin Murrieta
Like so many other men during the California Gold Rush, Joaquin Murrieta traveled to the mountains in the hopes that he could earn lots of money. Well KPWR is still holding on for dear life in this battle with KRRL. I can’t see Power 106 leaving LA despite the fact that their audience is dwindling. In the 90’s when 92.3 The Beat was around Power still managed to hit the Top 5. Both stations were doing well at the time. The younger crowd was either tuned to 92.3 or 105.9 and both stations sounded the same even though Power still played dance hits until late ‘96/early ‘97 such as Planet Soul, Artie The 1 Man Party, Angelina, Devoné, Lina Santiago, etc. Let me wrap up this post before I get nostalgic on this board and start talking about the 90’s Power 106 lol.Kpwr is not doing well at all. I highly doubt they are in the top 10.
Same thing with go country they have a small audience and it's growing every day. Saul might have to change formats if billing doesn't Improve
Then he’d get distracted by someone walking out of a tortilla factory and wander off to talk to them! And as Huell Howser would have said, "That's the most SPECTACULAR thing I've ever heard!"
He was an original. And genuine. Then he’d get distracted by someone walking out of a tortilla factory and wander off to talk to them!
If the owner of KPWR does change formats. (I'm not saying he would) KPWR Could take on KRTH. It would be an interesting battle.Well KPWR is still holding on for dear life in this battle with KRRL. The L.A. Times and Radio Korea are hosting a karaoke contest. Here's how you can compete
On Sunday, the L.A. Times and Radio Korea co-host a street karaoke competition in Koreatown Plaza. Former karaoke champions share their tips on how to approach a fun contest with serious strategy.www.latimes.com
Radio Korea, for the uninitiated is AM 1540 using the heritage call letters of KMPC.
Well KPWR is still holding on for dear life in this battle with KRRL.
Decades ago. History and national acclaim buy you nothing in the current moment. It's fascinating how both KRRL and 98.7 were able to surpass Power 106 and KROQ respectively in the 6+ ratings.
After all these were way more than just heritage stations; they were nationally-acclaimed massive brands that literally defined the formats they were in.
They were not "national brands" except in positioning statements like "world famous K-Rock".It's fascinating how both KRRL and 98.7 were able to surpass Power 106 and KROQ respectively in the 6+ ratings.

Makes me think of an old billboard I saw in the 90s for KROQ’s competitor at the time, 107.1 KLYY…. We’re not even famous in (insert city), Y107!They were not "national brands" except in positioning statements like "world famous K-Rock".
Within the industry, famous. But with listeners, nada.
