I've been reading the posts on this subject, and I can somewhat agree with Fred about the quanity of retro schedule posts. However, I do enjoy reading them...curiousity usually peaks my interests at times. However, I think a better compromise would be open a thread pertaining to a particular market/region of the country, and just post new schedules in those dedicated threads, instead of just opening up a new thread with only one set of skeds for a particular time frame.

All I can say to that is this: Someone please put up a new board on here that deals in Retro TV schedules and the sooner the better.

I'm very ticked off at people who think that it's their board on here. I have had loads of trouble on other message boards from ONE person who thinks he owns a certain board on a CMT message board calling me a homosexual(which I'm not) all the time and each screen name I had defending myself that I'm not went into the trash and I had to go under a new name each time I posted basically. I have stopped posting all together on there because of this. Sitcomsonline, another poster thinks that it is her board all of the time and I haven't posted on there in nearly a year because of that. So as you can see,it is a problem with people who think that they are higher and mightier than thou and that they can control whatever you say and do without someone picking at you and starting a fight and basically having to have permission before you do anything or wanting to post something without getting someone's feelings getting hurt all the time.

How is that different from what you are doing?

My apologies. I didn't realize this was your board.

Thanks a lot for showing your true colors on this board for all the world to see. All the more better than to get out of these message boards while I'm way ahead.

You win,Mr. Flintstone. These boards are all yours now. Deal with it what you will.

Goodbye.

OK, I don't like the Retros so I don't read them. But what I think is interesting, if you look at the number of Retro posts (and there are a lot of them), they seem to generate very little response. In most cases, there are no replies at all and the number of people viewing them seems to be on the thin side as well.

Okay, I'm just looking down the page to see what the response has been to some of the recently posted retro schedules. I see anywhere from 30 to 300 views to some of the different retro schedule threads, so there is interest in many of these old schedules. Personally, I do enjoy looking at some of these schedules myself...and generally don't reply, so I don't place a lot of signficance in the number of replies to these threads.

I don't see that we should be creating a new board for these schedules, because that is what the "Classic TV" board was created for. And do we really need an even greater proliferation of boards, because it seems that we can end up with so many highly specialized boards that they mostly end up dead.

On the other hand, I also agree with those who have suggested limiting the number of retro schedules posted at any one time for any given area. When a dozen schedules appear on the same day for a particular area, spaced every few months apart, I end up just looking at one or two of them...and I do notice that these types of postings are the ones that end up at the low end of the "views" range. But the thing is that there just isn't enough time to sit down at look at that many different schedules from the same city in one sitting. Recognizing that it takes work to create these posts, I'll just note that the results of that work could be more fully appreciated by more of us *if* those posts are spaced out a little bit more, and limited to not more than a couple per market within a several day period.
