Lujack to the Dish

I only have an AM/FM/CD player in my Jeep, so I don't really know what bounces off the dish in the sky. However, this format isn't going to debut until September, if I remember correctly. They must be putting together the distribution structure. I'm sure we will hear more about this in the Chicago area, especially with Lujack's association.

Just a thought: Could Lujack do mornings on 'LS and that be piped to the bird in the sky??? If that is what would happen, is Shannon's format ready to bite the dust in Chicago???

I can't imagine them launching this format without having Lujack on a Chicago outlet.

I can't imagine Larry on anything less than a huge multi-state AMer.
The other thing I can't imagine is Larry without a huge local staff to interact with.
I listened and sure 'nuff prefer Larry over Wink.
But the awesome reverb of WLS is missing, as are "the local station staff" to interact with.
I won't say it sounds like a podcast, as it would be live, but it either hasta be "from" somewhere specific, and identify locally,
or very intentionally structured to run anyplace and reduce or minimize localism.
As a Chicagoan, I want my Larry to originate in Chicago.

I also can't imagine Lujack without Tommy Edwards. In the old days that wouldn't have been a problem, but I can't picture him doing a show by himself now. It's been way too long. Also, is he actually going to be in Dallas?
I can't imagine him out of Santa Fe.
So many questions.

i haven't heard ol' Uncle Lar for awhile, i think this thing could fly, but c'mon Wink Martindale? (you can tell the Music Of Your Life People have a hand in this) ...Lujack is always terriffic! and yes, belongs on WLS-FM. but it will be kind of hard to bump "True Oldies" for Lujack because it is THEIR syndicated show.

Yeah I'm still trying to figure out where this would be heard in Chicago. I agree--Wink Martindale?
I have no problem with Lujack not on reverb. They didn't use reverb on his last gig on WRLL.

Even if they had reveb on 'RLL, the static would have drowned it out:)). Since Edwards hasn't surfaced somewhere on LS, even a weekend shift, he might be involved with this venture.

We know one thing, Lujack won't be broadcasting from Chicago. It's a well documented fact he doesn't like city-life. My guess, he will be based out of his home studio in NM.

Yeah I can't picture him working out of that satellite studio in Dallas either.

If this is accurate, then it will not be Siruis/XM, and will be programmed by John Rook. Hmmmm, what station in Chicago would carry Lujack?

Earthworks Entertainment is in the process of negotiating an affiliate relations and sales agreement with a major radio network group to distribute Hit Parade Radio. Expectations are for more than 100 stations to sign within the first 18 months. Additional major, nationally recognized on-air talent, such as Wink Martindale and Lyle Dean who are rumored to be on-board, will be announced in the near future with a scheduled launch date in September.

Chuck is perfect to head up the Programming of Hit Parade Radio. In addition to the programming duties, Chuck will also hold down the mid-day on-air position at Hit Parade Radio following Super-jock Larry Lujack and preceding Wink Martindale.

OK, everyone, help me out here. Wasn't Chuck Brinkman at WCFL in the 70's?

I know he worked in Pittsburgh for a long time, but I can't recall whether he was in Chicago. Memory is foggy.

I seem to remember Chuck Brinkman at WCFL, 1972-ish. No way to confirm my memory, but it's usually right.

440 Satisfaction says Chuck Brinkman spent 27 years in Pittsburgh (KQV, WTAE WMYG), was at KOGO in San Diego briefly, and Dallas (KLUV, KAAM) for the last 21 years. No 'CFL, no Chicago on his resume.
