In the early 60's there were hundreds of available FM frequencies. All one had to do was read and understand part 73 of the FCC rules, get the correct forms and fill them out according to the rules. There was no filing fee...no auctions...no EEO...No FAA (mostly)
and seldom a competing application. Those were the days. They (FCC) basically stayed out of the contentious process we now see. That is why we have the viable FM band today.
What Happened? When the Feds started collecting fees, the availibilty of the frequencies
began to migrate to the "biggies". What do we have today? End of sermon and your comments are appreciated...Tnx JBI
