I love the notion that those "young-ins" need to pay their dues before working in a big market. This seems to be coming from somebody who's a little jilted and corrupt from too many years and bad experiences in the business. The bottom line is, some people have "it," and some do not. Some that have it move faster than others who have it as well...I know a lot of young radio people that work overnight shifts while tracking shifts during the week and working promotions just to get a tiny step ahead. And some young people don't have to do that much before hitting the big time. C'est la vie. There are also a lot of young people who think that being on the air is owed to them, regardless of experience, for one reason or another. THOSE are the ones you want to smack in the face. I don't think KISS would make the mistake of hiring somebody who didn't belong. Good luck to her, I hope she puts that show in its place.
