Mack at Night show released

Since no one has brought this up yet... The mack at night show has been released. What is taking its place?

Hopefully a more CHR-oriented night show and not the stale show he had. A top 9 @ 9? Girls calling in screaming? New Music Showdown? You know, the typical CHR night show.

Silly Jilly who used to work as a sidekick on Java Joel's show and did Klub Kiss has just been hired to do nights starting August 6th.

What happened to the days of someone paying their dues before getting a gig in a market this size? I mean, no offense to the girl - I've not heard any of her material - but her second full-time solo gig is in market #3? Wow. Sad, if you ask me.

Actually, Silly Jilly is one of the best young talents I've heard in the country over the past few years. She voicetracked several stations alongside her gig at Kiss Harrisburg, and she always sounded major market to me.
I think Kiss made a great move, and I'm also happy to see Kiss doing better then ever in the ratings.

I love the notion that those "young-ins" need to pay their dues before working in a big market. This seems to be coming from somebody who's a little jilted and corrupt from too many years and bad experiences in the business. The bottom line is, some people have "it," and some do not. Some that have it move faster than others who have it as well...I know a lot of young radio people that work overnight shifts while tracking shifts during the week and working promotions just to get a tiny step ahead. And some young people don't have to do that much before hitting the big time. C'est la vie. There are also a lot of young people who think that being on the air is owed to them, regardless of experience, for one reason or another. THOSE are the ones you want to smack in the face. I don't think KISS would make the mistake of hiring somebody who didn't belong. Good luck to her, I hope she puts that show in its place.

Even "back in the day"...

There were "youngins" who found their way to the big markets.

People in their early to mid 20's were on some of those big stick AM's. So, I don't think it unusual at all for a talented young person who has proven himself (or herself) by success in smaller markets, to get a break.

WTF? Maybe she is talented. Radio people are so petty.
