Madden To Rtn?? The X?

Interested Observer said: "He made a lot of money for ESPN Biz, hence the huge contract that he received...". Like him or not, this's a fact.

I think Maddens appeal(?) lies in his ability to garner listeners outside the sports realm. I've very little interest in stick-and-ball sports but would listen whenever I could, especially for his sometimes really funny "Ask Mark Anything" closing segments.

Mark had some high profile advertizers: Shultz Ford comes to mind (NOT a used car lot) as well as national spots. I kinda liked his Kennedy 'joke'. And who else would have the audacity to poke fun at 'Steeler Nation' (1980... 1980...). All good clean fun, if ya don't have a stick up yer arse...

The first two years of Mark's contract were guaranteed. The folks on Ardmore Boulevard are apparently trying to claim that Mark was taken off of the air and not fired, thus he is still bound by the contract. Yes, that is legal hair-splitting at its finest but if they are right then Mark can't work anywhere in the country until sometime next year.

Mark has been telling everyone that he bought out his contract and is free to go anywhere he wants. I've always wondered about that statement, now I am sure there is something amiss with it.

Any update with Mark Madden going to the X?

Been wondering myself. Checked '
Mondesishouse'(sp) blog and there are no entries since Aug 21 regarding the hated Mr Madden.

I know his goal is to get a national show, but doesn't look like it (so far... if LebaTard can have a nat show...).

To pfa,
Almost 50 years in the sales/ownership area of national radio tells me Madden's car dealer was 50% trade and his audience was skewed 18 to 24.Which is fine.In addition, the afternoon drive audience is indeed leftover from the legendary Franklin C. Snyder era.
In closing,John F.Kennedy was a close friend of mine.Enough said?
