Sounds like a throwback to Cool 105.7 and Lake 102...

Now if they would get rid of that translator on 102.9 I could listen to it again...it comes in fine when I am north of Peachtree Ridge but not when I am south of it...

Within Atlanta and East of town, Radio One won't be getting rid of 102.9 anytime soon. Besides, Radio One has the MAJIC name on 107.5/97.5

There's no reason for the 102.9 translator. Its a horrid station, and we have enough urban radio around atlanta already! Geez.. Lets kill the translator, and put some decent programming on this frequency. Just how many V-103's do we really need? Dont we have enough?

Boy, look at the new logo - the very hideous lime-Jell-O green logo:

See, station owners, this is what happens when you don't hire a professional design agency to create your logo and brand and opt to have it done by your receptionist who knows MS Word really, really, really good.

GAG.

Or is this what happens when smalltimers don't have the money in this economy to hire professionals (such as yourself) and have to resort to the ad hoc skills of current staff ("other duties as may be determined by management from time to time") ;D

Uh V-103 is an urban contemporary, whereas Majic 107.5/97.5 is an urban adult contemporary, there is a difference in format musical composition and presentation. If you don't know much about the urban format then don't use blanket statements like "Just how many V-103's do we really need? Dont we have enough?" that make you look mighty ignorant. That's like me saying that Q-100 and 95.5 the Beat are one in the same when they are not...

I'd like to know how you manage to pick them both up at the same time ;)

On days when the DXing was good, before that stinkin' translator, I could pick up 100k Rock 103 instead of Majic 102.9.

I don't know how close to Atlanta Rock 103 and WMJE get their signals protected, but both of them had perfectly listenable signals on opposing sides of the metro.

Can a regular citizen send a complaint to the FCC about this and expect to get any traction from it?

Very easy. I use an APS-13 (13 element directional antenna with 200 ft boom) http://www.starkelectronic.com/aps13p.htm
