Makes Sense To Us

I really wish I understood the fascination with Joe Crummey. He puts on a semi-puking and affected radio voice which sounds half way between 1982 CHR jock and talk show host of the same era and then proceeds to do survey radio straught from that same paradigm as well.

"Okaaaaaaaay, so this hoooour, we're gonna taaaaalk about the baaaaaiil out plan, what do you think, give me a call!!!" So insulting to the intelligence of the audience to ask a question and have a regurgitated answer.

What's even more odd is that Joe Crummey is a Conservative and nearly everyone on this board hates conservatives, yet they like a guy that is ostensibly a hipper version of Rush Limbaugh with fewer drugs and a guitar--that is out of tune by the way.

Someone really needs to enlighten me as to what I'm not seeing that's so "cool" about Joe Crummey.

Well, Joe is self effacing and doesn't act like every word he utters is the word of God(Limbaugh). He doesn't go on screaming rants (Savage), when he doesn't know something, he lets you know(unlike Gallagher), when he tries to be funny and bombs, he has the self confidence to acknowledge that.

He tries to keep things light when possible, and when he has a good guest on, he lets the guest talk. He is reasonably informed, doesn't speak of himself in 3rd person(Gaydos) doesn't bore us with stories of his girlfriend (Mac), and doesn't weenie out of an argument by changing the subject or wrapping himself in the flag (Aunt Carlos). He doesn't do "talking points" radio (Hannity).

Good show, Dennis Miller and the nearly bald one are better, but its a good show

it's so obvious that joe is broadcasting from a remote location via isdn. sounds like i'm listening to am radio. michael savage uses isdn to send show from his san francisco condo to the studios in oregon, but you can't tell it's isdn; sounds like he's in-studio. how can ktar fix this when joe is broadcasting from l.a.?

Joe's line actually sounds better than Austin Hill's line. I wonder why Austin doesn't just come in studio when he is subbing. ???

Joe's wife must still have that high-paying job in El Ay. I wonder if the Evil One's contract contains a clause about moving to the valley at some point.

I doubt it. He lives high on a hill in SoCal and he can afford it, his son has started school, his wife has a great job, and he has a popular show here while living there. Sounds like he's written his own ticket.

How do you know he takes fewer drugs? ;D

The same old slop being served up, in hypocritical fashion, after decrying a remote host on the other station……but it OK when it our station…

As to the actual content……I don't believe Crummey believes a word he utters into the microphone. It's all just shtick with emptiness behind other than tugging at some "angry white man" push button emotional triggers…

And radio listenership will continue to decline further as people tune out and click in with iPods, podcasts, and/or satellite radio…

Mac & Gaydos together are great. Mac's show previously would just be a lecture and incredibly boring. Now they constantly play off each other and as a result make the show funny and interesting.

BTW: What even happen to Gaydos and his "illegal alien girlfriend" he always talked about?

Don't the majority of talk-radio hosts converse about their personal lives? While I've heard a lot about the infamous girlfriend, how the heck do I know Pat McMahon and Michael Dixon's wives names? Some hosts I even know their young kids names! Don't fault Mac for doing whatever everyone has done/will do.
